Can you contact AWACS with Mi8?

Hi, Im trying to contact an awacs from the MI8, but I cant make it work.

 

Awacs its an A-50 with Freq on editor of 135MHZ AM

 

Mi8 R-863 channel 2 default its 135mhz AM

 

I tried using this channel but the AWACS option Doesnt even appear

 

Added and A10C for testing and I have a perfect communication with the Awacs.

 

Any Help?

Instead of using the presets , maybe switch it down to manual on the center console and put the freq in there? Im not near my computer right now but I am curious if this works. Keep us posted.

I just tried too, and couldn't get it to work. Both Mi-8 and AN-50 set to same default comms frequency (137.5MHz in my case) and AWACS running the AWACS enroute task.

Can you hear AWACS calls?

 

It's the same thing with the Huey and the Black Shark. You can tune in the radio on the correct channel, but there is no option in the radio menue. If someone else is calling AWACS, you will hear it though.

AWACS, JTAC, Cargo and Embarking options are coded in the LUA of the respective modules.

For now, AWACS and JTAC options are not available for Helos.

You can set the frequencies but you can´t be able to establish contact with the AWACS or JTAC.

There is a mod for jtac and awacs for the Shark. It should be adaptable to the mi8 with a little modding. I have time to play with it Tuesday night..
