razo+r Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 They're nealry in range of my budget now :D but before i buy them, i want to get some advices from pros and a community Those two am i currently looking at: GTX 980 Ti AMP EXTREME from ZOTAC GTX 980 Ti Hybrid from EVGA so i want to know, what's better, a cheap but faster card or a bit more expensive but cooler card? also i'm courious about the ZOTAC one and it's lenght, it says it's 32cm and on my case it say max lenght: 30cm, but now i measured the lenght and i came to the result, the biggest part will fit in, but only like 1cm will go to the Storage part, but it's free so i think it shouldn't be a problem right? And where would i have to install the radiator of the EVGA Hybrid, i see it should fit above the CPU, or should it be placed somewhere else like the storage part or outside? What do you guys think and does anyone has experience with it? thanks in advance
Oldguy Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 The radiator usually goes where the top, rear exhaust fan, that most cases have, now sits. I have never had any issue with EVGA products; I do not know the Zotac brand, but I suspect that plenty of reviews are out there. If I could afford a hybrid EVGA product, that is what I'd get for myself.
dburne Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I cannot answer to your specific questions, but will say I have had great experiences with EVGA. Have never had an issue with any of the video cards or motherboards, and their customer support is second to none. Have been running EVGA hardware for the last several years. I currently run an EVGA GTX 970 FTW and it does very well for me. razo+r Posted October 29, 2015 Author Posted October 29, 2015 So ok, thanks for the answers, but the problem is, the ZOTAC is longer then my case it's maximum lenght of a graphiccard, but it could fit in, but i'm not 100% sure, so should i go for the smaller EVGA one? and also, i have a mid tower, so will the radiator fit in? well, seems like i have to watch a few reviews more, but still, thanks

Brand and type number of motherboard you have in there Any other slots PCI_express slots filled or do you have a clean and clear area all around?
Demon_ Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) None of them are good for you. Just purchase a normal version. Look at the frequency of the GPU, the fastest at a reasonable price. Anyway, you will see no difference in performance. A gamer needs a new graphic card every 5 years, save your money. You connect the radiator to the rear fan. You need to have a 120mm rear fan. OnlyforDCS Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) The performance differential between the different Ti editions are so tiny that it virtually makes no difference. I would advise that you get the cheapest one that you can fit in your case. If you want to go overboard with an overclock, then get the best cooled card that can fit in your case. In either case (no pun intended) what use is an expensive video card which you cant even install due to length, width, fan placement etc. Edited October 30, 2015 by OnlyforDCS Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

zxarkov Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Personally I have owned many generations of EVGA GPUs and have always found their products excellent. Great customer service, the step up program, PrecisionX OC software and generally excellent products. Highly recommend their upgraded cooling, ACX 2.0+ or the Hybrid models. Quiet and very effective. OCing the 980 Ti gives big gains, hence get the best cooling solution you can for your GPU. __________________________________________________________ i7 3930k @ 4.7GHz | GTX 980 Ti | 16GB G.Skill 2133 Quad Channel | Samsung 850 EVO SSD | Win7 ProX64 | CH Fighterstick | CH Pro Pedals | CH Throttle | BenQ XL2730Z 1440p
Deezle Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I can attest to EVGA's prompt customer service as I'm sending my 970 out today for them to replace because of a quite annoying fan issue :D:( Otherwise my luck with EVGA has been good.
