nigelmcelwee Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I am relatively new to DCS and have always setup AI to fly flight plans. Well, I placed some choppers at Nellis with no flight plans and they took off and just flew around. Do they just randomly wander the skies and come back and land at some point? nigelmcelwee Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 ahh ok. Wasn't sure if it was a new feature. Would be cool to have them just randomly fly around and engage enemies. Would make a nice randomness about it . Would make a nice randomness about it . I think you can just set up one waypoint for them and set advanced action "Enroute task -> 'search and engage in zone', and then set up quite a big zone covering a lot of the AO. That should do the trick. Also, as a first action set up "ROE -> weapons free". For more information, please visit my website. nigelmcelwee Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 cool, thanks baltic will do that!!! I always wanted more randomness to my missions so I setup lots of random flags but this makes the flights a lot more random. I can setup some conditions on search and engage as well to make it more random. ENO Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 The script library has a few great additions that can really add some immersion to the average mission- even just by livening up the airports you're using in your missions. Alternatively there are CAP / GCI scripts available as well that can be put to use even with a minimum amount of scripting experience.
