I want to pre order DCS World 2.0 and i'm not sure how to proceed.

I am from Germany, i could use Pay Pal, but the price is in U$D, not euro.

Would that be a problem ?

And if i have DCS 2.0, could i use Flaming Cliffs 3 as well, with all the planes ?

DCS World is free. You don't need to buy it.

 

At the moment, the only map you can use in DCS World 2.0 is the Nevada map, which you have to buy and there are no campaigns and no training missions that work.

 

My advice for you is:

 

Download the 1.5.2 beta of DCS World here (same engine as 2.0 but has the Caucasus map included): http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/1.5/

 

Buy Flaming Cliffs 3 DLC.

No, it's not a problem. PayPal automatically exchanges the money during payment.

Wow. The confusion is real. Just save yourself some headaches and wait for the final release of 2.0. Your install will automatically update to 2.0 when it's ready and everything you already own will work in 2.0.

I thought i could only fly over Vegas / Nevada ( no training missions, etc ) only to admire the view.

The 2.0 currently available is an early test version. All aircraft are working but there might be issues with some that you don't have on 1.5.2. As of yet, Nevada is the only map that works with 2.0, and Nevada is payware. They will update the Caucasus map to work in 2.0 before it's final release and that will still be free just like in older versions. If you don't want Nevada, you will just have to wait. The only reason to buy Nevada right now is if you want to participate in the development by testing and providing feedback to the developers. Otherwise, it's better to just wait.

You can also make your own missions in Nevada (only reason to get 2.0 atm), and in MP there is pretty much always something to do too. Also, there are a few Red Flag Campaigns being designed specifically for Nevada for A-10c and F-15c (seperate Campaign DLC's though, unless you pre-ordered).

 

Also, NTTR/Nevada is bigger than just Las Vegas. Although it's mostly desert with some POI's like the dam and some towns etc, it has plenty of terrain to make some interesting missions. Nevada is mostly a change of scenery atm though, and 2.0 alpha currently is mostly just for testing that map.

Paypal should be set up to tie to your bank account, and/or credit card account.

Once that is set up and verified, it should pull funds directly from the account you specify in the transaction.

 

I personally have used PayPal for several years, and love it. Great for online transactions.

That depends on how he has set his PP account. Mine for example is not tied to any card or bank account and I do indeed "charge" it with bank transfers every now and then when I want to buy something.

It's officially not recommended, but many people do it and it usually works (obviously, if 2.0 version of some aircraft brings a few new controls, they will have to be assigned from scratch). Just remember to reset them if you encounter any controls-related bugs.

There's no confusion. V2.0 is an Alpha test model which is downloaded separately from 1.5.

 

If you have 1.5, the v.20 install should automatically activate your modules in v2.0.

 

The only map that can be used is Nevada which you will have to pre-purchase, otherwise v2.0 will not do anything.

 

Most aircraft controls work in v2.0 (I haven't found any that don't) so you can go to Options... Controls, pick your aircraft, highlight a cell under your controller and click Load Profile at top right. Next, navigate to the v1.5 /Saved Games/DCS/Config/Input/[aircraft]/[device type]/ and select the ****.diff.lua file for your controller and click OK and it will load into v2.0. When you then click OK on the Options panel it will save to the v2.0 folders.

 

For [device type] I mean keyboard, joystick, mouse, trackir.

 

At he moment Nevada really hammers the GPU back to v.12 Caucuses levels but it's still in alpha.

 

As said above you can make missions or fly online but really feedback is wanted.
