harf4ng Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Or does it just handle the thing like one big screen with a big resolution? I wonder, because look at what looks like my left screen when I have the middle one with a good zoom ratio... The earth is not straight as it should be... or maybe I miss a configuration somewhere? To have the left screen showing a straight earth, I have to really zoom a lot forward :) Thanks Favorite modules : Huey, F-86F, F14 and P-51D Quest 2, RTX 3080, i7 10700K, 16 Gb of RAM, Pro Flight Trainer PUMA helicopter setup, Warthog HOTAS with two force sensitive stick, custom cockpit and a GS-Cobra dynamic seat.
lanmancz Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I think this is normal as DCS essentially creates another camera for each screen which creates these weird angles. I think that if you want to get rid of it you will have to use Surround or Eyefinity to joinup all your 3 screens into one continuous screen on the driver level and then let DCS run as if it was one wide screen. harf4ng Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Yes I am in surround mode and I tried this, the 1 screen setup, but then this is like if I have one big flat screen, without any angle, so this is not good as well... I guess I have to work with the screen lua, not sure how I should use it though, will have to do some testings... harf4ng Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) So, I managed a not too bad setup with working with the LUA, putting -1.05 in viewdx of the left screen, and 1.05 for the right screen, to compensate for bezels, and then increasing zoom to have a closer and more realistic view, and be able to see the panels better. I'll do this with trackIR to be able to look down... btw how do we know what is our current zoom level, and how do we save it as default? USAFMTL Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 i have mine video card set to Surround and DCS did this when I fired it up. [sigpic][/sigpic] US Air Force Retired, 1C371 No rank or title will ever be as important as the unit patch you wear.
harf4ng Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 What is the angle between your monitors? They look a bit flat on your photo. The thing is, when you do this, consider one single screen, DCS considers it as one big flat monitor, so you increase your FOV forward, but not on the side, and moreover the issue is that the menus are stretched across the screen, with a bit on left screen, a bit on right screen. Noksi Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) i have mine video card set to Surround and DCS did this when I fired it up. I bet you didn't choose the option of 3 monitors, isn't it ? He already said, if you stay at the 1 monitor setting the horizon stays at a straight line, you can zoom in and out and it will remain a straight line but that is not full multi-monitor support. I'm on 3 monitors as well but still use the 1 monitor setting because I didn't want to edit files (yet) and can life with it (for the moment). And it isn't to bad as my side monitors are almost in a straight line to the middle monitor (like in your picture, he has them at quite an angle so it doesn't look good/realistic on his end) Edited January 17, 2016 by Noksi
Noksi Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 btw how do we know what is our current zoom level, and how do we save it as default? Not sure how to get the info about the zoom level after you zoom-in or out of the default zoom level. But you can enable "snapview ..." in the options (I'm on my laptop so can't check the exact wording", use the keys to switch the view and use the key to save it as your new default snapview.

Can you show me of an example of what you are trying to do so I can get a better feel for what you're trying to accomplish? Deezle Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Yep. Ya gotta use Surround. Not true, DCS can take advantage of multiple monitors natively. You have to understand using the three screen profile gives the side monitors a 90º turned view of the main monitor, that's why it looks funny. I prefer a single screen profile across all three monitors. Retsilf Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Does anyone make use of the dx parameter in the monitorsetup lua to get a "real" side view? If so what's the dx value?

Noksi Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) I'm a little (better totally) confused, I'm not trying to accomplish anything so I don't know what I can/should show you. :-) Going with only 1 monitor setting in the options works for you and me as our monitors are set up almost flat to each other, in fact not much difference to one giant physical monitor which displays 5760x1080 (or whatever your resolution is). Now enable the 3 monitor setting in options and you see now the view is totally screwed up ... but we (you and me) don't really need that option. Edited January 17, 2016 by Noksi
