Jateu Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Hi all , Has anyone tried dragon speak gaming while using rift to cover the issue of not being able to use keyboard?
hansangb Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 LOL. I'm getting ready for it. Just ordered a microphone to test it out. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1

hansangb Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Just not enough time in the day. I'm busy building physical switches. Even with the rift coming, I'd rather put my hand on physical switches. Oh well, less sleep, I guess. :) hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
Ragtop Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Voice Attack works extremely well. I use it for some of the things you can do very quickly in real life by feel, but require going heads down to scan for a button in the sim. "TACAN Yardstick" "TACAN Ground" "NIMSIP (NMSP) TACAN" "NIMSIP ILS" That kind of thing. If you're that way inclined, you can use it for more comples macros too; "FENCE IN" Lights go off, Master Arm, Gun/PAC, Laser Arm and CMSP all set automatically. Not my personal thing but handy if you want convenience. 476th vFG Alumni
_Acoustic_ Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Not sure how you fly without it. Once ATC is better it will get even more immersive but as it is now voice attack to me is like trackir, I can't fly without it. $8.00 was more than worth it. 1

_Acoustic_ Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Indeed. Can't wait to see what ED has up their sleeve for ATC. I couldn't imagine pressing a bunch of buttons instead of saying "Nellis approach, Chevy one requesting landing clearance, runway two-one left." Then taxing over to the fuel farm and saying "Chief, brass and gas." With or without VR, voice attack is a must.
TomOnSteam Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I've been using VAC (voice activation control). It works perfectly. I mostly use it for the ATC so I don't have to fiddle with the F1-F12 keys. What we really need is a bluetooth mouse that can find it's way to your hand by way of voice command :P --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cockpit Spectator Mode
Jateu Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 I use a bluetooth track ball. It can be placed anywhere and it's prefect for mouse when you can see. Most of all no restriction on use like a cable getting in the way. Try it.
Enduro14 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 May have to give this a try can you point me to the software you guys use. Thanks! Intel 8700k @5ghz, 32gb ram, 1080ti, Rift S

Enduro14 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 rgr that so i read a bit about vaicom 2 sounds good do most here who use the hotas warthog few questions, do you use the mic switch for the various ptt for that software and if so simple method to set that up? Also it seems that software just does the radio comms menu stuff correct? Intel 8700k @5ghz, 32gb ram, 1080ti, Rift S
_Acoustic_ Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) Here is what I use: http://www.voiceattack.com/ You can program any command that is a key stroke. So technically you can use it to fire weapons or lower flaps but for DCS I just use it for comms. For instance, I key the mic button and it brings up the home comm list, so from there Voice Attack takes over and I can pick from wingman, flight, ATC, etc. Then from there depending on what I want, it is all done in one saying, so if I want my wing to engage, I just say Two, engage bandits/ground/tanks/ etc and he does it. If I want to land I just say _____ Tower, (callsign ___) requesting landing clearance runway _____ Left/Right. To taxi... ____ Tower, (callsign ___) requesting clearance to runway ___ via ____ and ____ or whatever it may be. Edited February 4, 2016 by ♠_Acoustic_♠
