A10C Red Flag Campain Frequency Issues

So I've been flying the A10C Red Flag Campain. The Data Cards don't match what's in the Mission Editor. For example the Data Card says my flight is on 251 but it's actually 250. Same with the tanker. 160 on the Data Card and 161 in the Mission Editor. There's no mention of the Tanker's TACAN anywhere. No mention of 'Guard' frequency. These are pretty important items to mission success and made for a pretty frustrating start. Am I missing something?

And no it's not in the briefings either.

Other than that very awesome so far.

in mission3- Radio does not work

I had the same problem in mission 3 trying to contact JTAC on 144 am from the briefing. ATC wasn't answering my calls either. I'm having fun with the missions though Wags ty. Briefings are amazing. Can't wait until I have more time to play them.

Same problem here. Thought it was me. I was going to wait until tomorrow and try the mission again, and then post if I had a problem. Switched radio to 144 when heading to SP8 but could not get JTAC to respond. Also, for the first time I can remember, my wingman would not respond either.

Ran mission again. Can hear wingman calls so I know I'm on the right frequency. Wingman does not respond to me at all. Can't remember the last time I had this issue. He has always responded to my commands. Can hear other allied flights. Also JTAC does not respond on frequency 144. Unfortunately DCS crashed when I attempted to fire a Mav, but that's another issue in a different thread.

Maybe related: In mission 1 I called ATC for landing clearance but never heard them (easy comms OFF, Nellis on 125.0 VHF AM). The text overlay seemed to indicate I was cleared for landing, though. This was my first flight since the 2.0.1 update. Comms broken again?

I was able to contact JTAC in mission3. Checked in with him on wp7 with -4 min dtot. With all the radio comms going on, it takes a (long) while for him to respond.

ATC in Nellis isn't working for me, too. Never get a takeoff clearance, for instance.

good afternoon , the third mission my radio does not work. I tried with easy communication settings and nothing .

Sorry, but unable to reproduce this. Are you certain that you are are 144.00 AM? This is an airborne unit (Reaper), so needs to be on the VHF AM and not FM as with the ground JTACs.

Thanks, Wags. Well that would explain the tanker part.

A10C Red Flag - Wingman Comms

In the briefing card for mission 3, the Wingman comms is 251 UHF. My wingman is not responding. All systems are up and running.

How can I change the freq so I can communicate.

Cheers

I think 250 is what works, that's what I'm set on and haven't had an issue.

Edit: Campaign inconsistencies thread in the DLC campaigns forum> A-10 red flag> problems, it also mentions this.

"Lineup Card: Ownship UHF 251, but in fact it's 250. Wingman doesn't talk or respond on 251."

I attempted to call the JTAC at the Msn3 PUSH point, with no luck. I called again at the IP and it worked. Both times on the correct 144.0 VHF AM radio. IRL, VHF radios can reach 100's of miles from aircraft to ATC centers. On UHF, I can usually reach base ops or another aircraft on our standard frequencies about 160-200 miles out. Why can't VHF reach another aircraft in the sim unless I'm overly close?

I managed to get through to the JTAC. It was my wingman that I couldn't get in touch with.

in mission3- Radio does not work

I flew some of the mission again last night just to test the JTAC comms and still couldn't get in touch with him. However I'm af work now and just thought about what I did. I used the key board back slash to key the mic instead of using the mic switch for AM :). I'll test again tonight.

Question though. Is there an issue with SAM's showing up on the rwr after they have been killed? While I was picking off the artilley a SAM location was picked up by my rwr and I hunted the area that it was coming from for awhile and only saw one among the tanks that looked like a SAM and was already destroyed. I saved the track and can post it larer.

Edit: Just looked up the symbol was an S on the RWR, so I guess it was an EWR. But I'm pretty sure ot was the destroyed unit still showing up on the RWR.

On a side note that's why I love missions like these, it forces you to research and learn more about the aircraft and systems.

I definitely know I was, both times I flew that mission.

I'll have to check again when I get home. I did get messages, maybe those. I was looking for the AI response. So It's not the standard Interactive AI JTAC?

Nevermind see it up in left hand corner. Probably mic switch issue atleast for me.

Sorry, but I just cannot reproduce this. See attached.

Weird, I just flew the mission again. Started calling from WP5 then WP6, WP7.

I know I'm using the right radio and frequency. When I bring up the comms menu JTAC is not blacked out. I can hear myself checking in, but I get no response. Seems it works for some and not others.

At least the column is easy to spot so JTAC isn't really needed in this instance.

250 is what you want. Double check the frequencies in the Mission Editor or wait until they update the missions.

I didn't get a JTac response so I went ahead and started putting the hurt on the target. After about the 3rd target down I get...ABORT ABORT ABORT You don't have permission...blah blah. JTAC is never reliable for me. It seems to wait for radio chatter to finish on other frequencies before it can respond. And if there's a lot going on it takes a while. Even turning off the other frequencies doesn't seem to to fix it. Not a Red Flag problem per say.

Worked fine for me but with the other radio traffic it may take a little while to get through all the steps.
