The ones that starts with Matra are the Razbam missiles that have been updated. They are pretty good. But problem now is not the missiles themselves. its mostly about Employment. With the Magic II still being boresight only and the radar loosing lock very easily against anything but a target flying straight and level. (thus making shots with the Super 530 against manuvering targets very unreliable unless at point blank) 1

Cheers, If the problem is that you loose lock then yes. but if you maintain the lock and the missile just misses then no. But if you loose radar lock the missile will always miss.

As you mentioned it, it happens when the bandit starts maneuvering. I got a kill with a 530 yesterday. Rear aspect, 6 miles (?!) range. Those missiles make you feel like the dawn of the missile age. One I saw my missile sky rocketed in the end for no reason at all. I am currently wasting way too many 530D. The 550 are working just fine

Previously, you could successfully launch a rocket if you just came in dead zone, and now despite virtually no authorization fails to hit the target that although some weapons (foil, maneuvers). The necessary distance to fire is ridiculously low. I tested on a mission Mirage vs MiG 21. The effectiveness of Magic 2 improved, but 530 are now unusable. Same here. Can't hit diddly squat since last update. I'm done until final release. Every update seems to make it worse.

Thanks, Yes, try the same conditions with F-15 and MiG 29 (if you can) Vs anything that can fly 560kt at 5000ft. It's pretty low indeed, and you would have just a few more than 10Nm on front aspect target. Mirage fanatic ! westr Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 It does seem to vary depending on opponent. For example, flew against two F-5s and continuosly kept loosing radar lock. Shot countless number of missiles before I got a hit. Then as somebody mentioned. Tried against the Mig-29a and had success at a reasonable range too around 10nm I believe.
