Neor Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Is it possible to switch from one to the other mode with the same Bomb?

Neor Posted February 9, 2016 Author Posted February 9, 2016 So sad, cluster bombs in CCIP is a pain in the bud
Corsair Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Belougas were designed for low altitude, high speed delivery (hence the drag chute), so CCPI fits kinda well.
TomCatMucDe Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 So sad, cluster bombs in CCIP is a pain in the bud As Corsair said, drag chute bombs are better delivered in CCIP, it doesn't make sense to have the chute if you release from high altitude. I would also add that it is just more fun :)
gospadin Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Yes, but at low altitudes, you can't see the bomb cursor for CCIP on the HUD if your speed is below ~450 kts, even with the seat raised. I thought the whole purpose of high drag bombs was to drop them at very low altitudes. I wonder what the training manuals suggest is the "proper" speed/altitude for a Mk82SE delivery. feefifofum Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Make sure your radio altimeter is on, Gospadin...RAD ALT to "M" on the bottom right hand corner of the HUD control panel. I've had pretty good luck with the Snakeeyes since the latest HUD update in 2.0. THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC

I've had pretty good luck with the Snakeeyes since the latest HUD update in 2.0. I'll retry. My experience was ~2 patches ago. IvanK Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) Yes, but at low altitudes, you can't see the bomb cursor for CCIP on the HUD if your speed is below ~450 kts, even with the seat raised. MK82 SE had a release limit of 500KIAS on Mirage III this was a structural issue with the high drag petals. If you dont have a ranging method (RADALT) then the CCIP pipper remains below the bottom of the HUD. So in the dive you need to see the the RADALT reducing and make sure you have it selected (RS) as the ranging source on the PCA Edited February 11, 2016 by IvanK
gospadin Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 ok retested with Radar Altimeter enabled, and now it's quite accurate. Able to hit individual trucks most of the time at low altitude. thx! Neor Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 1. TAS: Uses the radar to obtain slant range to ground and calculate impact point. 2. RS: Uses the altitude provided by the radar altimeter to calculate slant range to the ground. Less accurate since it cannot take into account changes in terrain level. TAS should be more accurate in my understanding.
TomCatMucDe Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 TAS should be more accurate in my understanding. That's what he said. But TAS isn't working at the moment.
Neor Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 That's what he said. But TAS isn't working at the moment. He is talking about RS and I talked about TAS, it is not the same. How do you knot TAS is not working at the moment?
TomCatMucDe Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 He is talking about RS and I talked about TAS, it is not the same. How do you knot TAS is not working at the moment? he said RS is less accurate than TAS. So you meant the same thing. I have been following this forum for the last months and the devs mentionned that the TAS hasnt been implemented yet. Basically every advanced feature of the radar isn't working, elevation, IFF, beam mode (TAS) ...
