Upcoming RDI Radar changes

Sector Search in PID seems odd.

Once you've locked the target, radar starts scanning opposite side of target and lock breaks.

I reported this months ago, but RAZBAM seems to be aware of that issue regarding PID.

Indeed, Zeus said several times he was looking into it, but hadn't still found the cause = cannot fix until that happens ;)

Hi,

today I tried the latest OB 1.5.4 patch and the new bullseye (cursor) feature in the radar. I think it's not correct, but maybe I did a mistake somewhere.#

  • standing on the southern ramp at Kobuleti AFB, alignment finished (class 1) and radar warmed up
  • using the default bullseye for team blue (from my position about 18NM, bearing 326°)
  • cursor centered with 20NM display (so 10NM off my nose)

The bullseye data in the lower right corner showed 360/290. That would mean, that my cursor was 360NM off the bullseye.

Is there a known bug?

kind regards,

Fire

TDC/Bullseye relationship is untested and very likely buggy. I must finish some INS part before working on the bullseye/TDC relationship.

It seems something changed in the lastest patch, radar now working better than before. Not losing lock every time enemy notches or beams.

Something else guys. M-2000C radar is roll sensitive. You can notice it when you try to crank to gimbals. Did they fix it in 154?

If I lock an aircraft while in PID mode will the aircraft I'm locking know I'm locking them on their RWR?

Should this radar be able to tell what type of aircraft I have locked?

No, PID should not be any different to normal search. They'll see you as a 'spike' on their RWR but not get a lock warning.

Should this radar be able to tell what type of aircraft I have locked?
I'm not sure. Possibly. The first post of this thread does list NCTR as an upcoming feature still to be implemented, so I guess so. Don't know any details about it though or its limitations.

Good point. I haven't really thought about it. I just assumed the RDI isn't capable of that for some reason. Interesting.

wow, NCTR

what does it show ?

The aircraft type (or "unkown" which is more common AFAIK :D)

how are types displayed on VTB ?

By their name I guess (e.g. "Su-27"). At least that's how I know it from the F-16 in Falcon BMS and I guess it would be similar here. But that's just guessing.

i strongly doubt that the M2000 has this capability in real.

Yeah, I'm also kinda suprised by this.

Usually yes. Just like how you get a specific tone when an enemy aircraft has you locked.

Should this radar be able to tell what type of aircraft I have locked?

Yes. But NCTR is not enabled yet.
