Caucasus map: Will anything change for DCS 2?

Sorry to ask this as I'm sure it's come up before, but I can't find the answer:

 

When the Caucasus map moves into DCS 2, will there be any differences (extra features/textures/height map rendering/performance or anything at all) to what is currently in 1.5?

Do you have a link or quote for that statement, as I am fairly certain that nobody from ED has even hinted at that possibility.

 

In fact, if anything has been said along that line it would be to deny the possibility of further work/changes being made to the Georgia map due to it needing to be redone from scratch to incorporate any changes.

No, I would not expect anything revolutionary. What you might have in mind has already happened with the transistion from 1.2 to 1.5 where EDGE was introduced.

 

The difference between 1.5 and 2.0 is now "just" making Georgia a pluggable module like NTTR. Graphics and performance wise we already are now faaaar better than ever before.

The Move to T4 for Caucaus does the following: (Not All are Confirmed Changes):

 

-Allows Caucasus to work with DCS 2.0/T4 Terrain Engine

-Allows Caucasus to use DCSW 2.0 Specific Items that use T4 Substructure

 

Which Includes but may or may not be used or limited too:

-Allows Caucasus to Exist as a Terrain Module and not integrated into DCSW Core

-Allows Caucasus to be Content Protected under New DRM Scheme for Terrain Modules

-Allows Caucasus to be Assigned an Updater ID for Updates/Install/Uninstall

-Allows DCSW Base to Install Quicker/Smaller for Users only Interested in NTTR (not forced to install Caucasus unless they want too)

 

 

T4 is not a Graphics Engine, its a underlying File/DRM/Structure System, some aspects (ie Clip Mapping, and T5's Dynamic Meshes, are Related to Graphics, but require the Terrain System to be coded specifically to use those graphics features.)

Caucasus w/ a missing S because my phone was auto-correcting it to that.

Dynamic meshes? Does that mean that making big holes in the ground with high explosives will actually change the terrain mesh? Now that would be an amazing feature to have!
