Try the 104th,

Good Briefing so you know what you are doing

Open to the public server

always people to fly with around the clock, get on the teamspeak to coordinate

Enemy Air can come get you but for the most part they leave you alone

Send me a PM, i am always down to fly the shark

Toast

Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. and When All Else Fails, Aviate More :pilotfly:

I'm looking for good heli multiplayer servers.

Can't find any - most airplane based.

US - east coast.

ErJ ~ Have you given the 104th server a shot? I'm East-Coast as well; curious on the experience you've had with servers. I'm not into the "Fast-Movers" ~ mostly due to the fact that things just move too fast ... lol.

Any feedback/review from a rotor-head perspective is appreciated.

Well the problem I found with most of the servers - is that it's not organized...no real mission. everyone is flying everywhere - team kills...and in a heli you can be blown up any second. what's the point right?

I'm not using teamspeak...and I realize for missions it needs to be organized and scheduled. So understand that issue.

I live in jersey - we should fly a mission together.

I am down to play blackshark...central USA.

(re: Message #1)

I mostly just play on the 104th's server in 1.5 and 99th in 2.0 sim-flying the Ka-50. I usually play the 104th's Red side as the ground targets last longer due to low number of guys playing Red.

In the past I played on the 159th's server, not lately.

and

Used to play on Devilman's old S-77th out of Australia (excuse me, Tasmania) >>> couple servers are up lately renamed - MD-SIM.COM

Cooper is the guy to look up flying the Ka-50 with the S-77th, that guy is the best Shark jock I've seen on DCS. Go to Devilman's web-page to find out when the guys get together because of the wide-spread-out time zones.

I think I saw you there last night...

but here's the problem i have with MP -

i joined your team but couldn't find you. pressed f10 and it doesn't show locations of other peeps.

so i flew around for a little bit and then logged out.

If I am on and not still on the tarmac or FARP, I am headed or am at the current way point. Get on the 104ths TeamSpeak. I'm usually on with the ground pounders. I don't talk much and if there is too much chatter I turn the mike's sound off, but I am there. Too much talk distracts me, can't think, I only talk as to supporting the mission but I don't use the Brevity acronym-speak talky language. I'm not the one to learn from, but I'll show you what I know. I usually fly by myself, pretty much self-taught. Been flying Shark since 2011. Get TeamSpeak 3 if you can afford it. I think the Ka-50 guys are loner types like me.

Also, I may be on TS3 with the air guys to get their real-time intelligence.

See Message #8, edited it, added url to the S-77th.

Get in Ka-50 spot 1 = squad leader. Make sure that rotary dial 1 to 4 identity thingy on the right side console is on. ABRIS will show where we are per 4-man squad, unless somebody turns theirs off. The ABRIS map can be zoomed way out or way in. 104th's server is big on >>> NO_CHEATING, is why you don't see others in F10 and also TacView only records you. Somehow TacView can be implemented in real-time to see everybody---104th negated that real quick.

It is rare, but it does happen, enemy air will find the ground pounders waypoint area and come visiting. Would be nice to get friendly, allied air to cover us or at least we call out to them that we have enemy company over here.

Guys.

Let me know when you are getting tired of flying alone, shooting at herds of tanks on big US MP servers that are more focused on air combat and fixed wings CAS.

We are doing missions for slow and low during weekdays EST/CST with assigned leader/wingman groups, adapted tasks (attack, escort, recon, transport) and threats (no crazy hard AA or freaking jet fighters coming at you when there's nothing you can do to defend yourself.

Sure...what's the name of the server.

Also i checked out the calendar - adding the timezone would be helpful.

I don't have headset or software - but if this experience is cool - i will get them.

No server yet as we are not enough pilots to justify the cost for it. Yes. For the time, it is EST for the moment but we might need to go utc to avoid confusion.

Radio com goes through teamspeak so you really need a way to talk to your wingman, to the controller or to the other choppers you might have to escort or lead. Headset makes it kinda easier than shouting at your integrated microphone, assuming you have one.

BadCrc, I'm thinking about applying to BSD. I had DCS before it was world, way back to Flanker and lock on..where I started. But as a current WW2 prop head I have always flown DCS offline. I just didn't think I was good enough to go in MP servers. I love my KA-50, maybe I can find some help going on line with BSD. Ya'll take sort of noobies right? :D

Soon ...

Its been a number of years since I've been able to engage in the flying & combat aspects of DCS sims; the other night I had to relearn the cold-start procedures.

Give me a couple weeks and I'm in ~ I'm East Coast, U.S.

I use to have the full HOTAS w/ TrackIR but had down-graded and number of years ago. I have to reacquire some gear.

MMOs took over a great deal of time back in 2009; but w/ the lack of innovation in the genre for the last 7 years, I'm looking to come back.

If you're interested in NTTR, my server is StrongHarm Dedicated Public. There are 8 Blacksharks and 4 Gazelles on each side. The map in rotation is a 'cooperative pvp' called Desert Rock. Server and mission have received good feedback. If you don't see it in the list:

server: dcs.strongharm.com

TS: ts.strongharm.com

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

+1

in addition:

turn your transmission to WINGMAN if you are not LEAD and on 1.

2 3 and 4 use WINGMAN....if more than one heli uses COMMANDER/LEAD

the icons start blinking in ABRIS, which is annoying ;)

also 2 helis using same ID causes them to blink. Blinking never good sign !

I should have added; I fly on the 99th server NTTR, and 104th on Caucuses. They're good servers with skilled mission designers. My NTTR server has a good map with hundreds of hours of dev in it, but it's not a squadron server with a lot of people on all the time.. so it's kind of a backup.
