Hi, I'm about two months into DCS A10 C and have gotten to the point where I'm starting to fly

single player missions. I started with "Smerch Hunt" and am having problems. I start the plane

and check my weapons load in DSMS and it shows an empty inventory. However when I do a

walk around, there is a full load of stores under the wings. I call the ground crew for arming and

nothing. What gives?

It's been ages since I've flown that one. One thing that pops up is:

did you load the data cardridge during startup?

Remarky have you played multiplayer yet?

Ive been flying this sim for 5 years and have never figured how to go online and fly with other humans - Ive even got a microphone to do the team speak stuff but haven't a clue. If you have let me know step by step how you did it. Enjoy your flying, countless circuits around bantumi helped me get my real world pilots license so I'm very fond of both DCS and the old Hog !

Hi Ian, No, I don't think I'm ready for multiplayer. I did go onto a server as a spectator, but

didn't stay long enough to figure out how to "spectate" Another thing with this "Smerch Hunt"

mission; the wingman follows you down the runway and just stops in front of you. You then have

to inch around him to takeoff. Doesn't seem safe to me maneuvering that close to another plane.

Yeah, I think that may need some work. I don't think planes in real take-off or land with weapons in formation. A few seconds spread would be nice.

Multi Player

Remarky, I too was hesitant to join in on any multiplayer games but there was a pretty awesome member on this board (who recently passed away - Blooze) that got me involved and did some awesome things with me to get up to speed to join real time missions on their server.

I can say without a doubt it has been the best time I've had thus far and if I can offer just one piece of advice, it would be to not wait until you think you're ready to do multiplayer, that is where you should be learning the most! I don't get on multiplayer that much but would love to help out where I could (probably best time is on the weekends). Those one on one sessions are what got me really hooked and I have no doubt it will do great things for you as well. PM me if you ever want to try it out.

OK, 513 thanks. Can you recommend a server that would be NOOB friendly? OK, so I went ahead and jumped on a free flight "no engagement" multiplayer server and got hosed with machine guns

by a guy in a helicopter as I was on the ramp going through my checklists! And he was on my side! Fun!

Multiplayer is a completely different experience that SP - and an awesome one, especially if you find a good group to fly with. All depends what you are looking for - is it a casual mission without too much coordination or a pre-planned sortie with assigned roles etc. For the former, there are many different servers to choose from. For the latter, there are quite a few groups with very friendly people that will be happy to share their knowledge and teach you lots of new tricks (yes, there are lots of tricks that are not available in single player).

Now, for me MP will never exclude SP experience (I spend too much time building campaigns anyway), but it is great fun and a very rewarding way of playing. As I said there are many good groups which you will find in the MP section, or (shameless self advertising) you can simply click on my sig :music_whistling:

Multiplayer is the best way to learn once you get the basics. After you know the startup procedure, you can take off, navigate and land, I would recommend to jump onto a server with a couple of more experienced people and learn from them. Very useful for your SP missions too!

Remarky, it all depends on what you want to practice/work on. For anything not involving weapons delivery I tend to use the Virtual Aerobatics Server as weapons are not allowed and they tend to monitor that more than some other servers.

For weapons practice I tend to pick the server that's open with the least amount of people in there, especially if there are fighters all over the place. For a one-on-one you'd have to get with whomever has a teamspeak channel so you two could talk.

Have you looked into TeamSpeak by chance?

I do hate that about MP. I don't play any MP. games due to that type of behavior. One day they will figure out how to immediately boot users who act like that.
