Jafferson Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 After shutdown, rotor stop and bat off, the huey is ticking like a clock. Dont know if this is normal, whats that? Cant remember a sound like this, can someone explain it?
P3CFE Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 It is the sound of the Igniters sparking at intervals, i noticed it to. Normal during startup of the engine it should spark to light the fuel mixture, after the startup it normally stops. Long duration sparking, will also give the risk of overheating the exiterbox, that generates de high voltage for the spark. It should not spark if you shutdown the engine ..so it is probably a Bug. There are engine types that have ignition systems you can turn on if the engine is running for special situations. This is used for example if you would fly through massive rain showers. this ensures the engine will relight if it would flame out by the water. But i don't know if the Huey is equipped with such a system Greetz
Dudeindacorner Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 And here we are in early 2021 and the ticking is still there, this noise has bothered me since I bought the Huey in 2015.
SMH Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 I've never noticed it except during startup when it should happen. It shuts off automatically as you pass 40% on the Gas Producer RPM. When exactly are you hearing it when you shouldn't?
ED Team NineLine Posted May 24, 2021 ED Team Posted May 24, 2021 I am not hearing it either, except at expected times. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
