RIFLE_JTAC_TRAINING Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Hi, Our team of artists, coders and SMEs are looking to see if anyone knows what the status quo is on aircraft royalties in DCS? For example, is every manufacturer of vehicles in Combined Arms advised? Are permissions given? And the more in depth models such as DCS:A:10, Mig 21 etc. Do they all have understandings? Any help would be great. Silver_Dragon Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Contact with Eagle Dynamics Team or Wags, surely can get appropriate info. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=134715 For Work/Gaming: 28" Philips 246E Monitor - Ryzen 7 1800X - 32 GB DDR4 - nVidia RTX1080 - SSD 860 EVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 2 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Warthog / TPR / MDF
RIFLE_JTAC_TRAINING Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 Not much in depth information was given from wags. Im curious to hear from other if possible. The reason I ask is some will not pay royalties and other will from what I understand. Any guidance from past experiences would be greatly appreciated. Buzzles Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 You're not going to get answers on the open forum, that's for sure. You've had an answer from Wags, the only thing left is for you to PM some of the third party developers and ask nicely if they'll give you guidance. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
RIFLE_JTAC_TRAINING Posted May 22, 2016 Author Posted May 22, 2016 Thanks Buzzles. I have PM'd some peeps and the left and right of these arcs are really wide open which is interesting to say the least. 63 My CAS (Close air support) JTAC Channel: RIFLE - YouTube RIFLE's Discord: https://discord.gg/cmDCrr4Z2g Publications JTAC Bible (see/know chapter #5) https://fas.org/irp/doddir/dod/jp3_09_3.pdf J-FIRE pocket guide (Don't do battle without it!) pappavis Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Not much in depth information was given from wags. Royalties need to be paid to ED, also if u create content for 3rd party modules. From: Matt Wagner You will first need to submit the first three missions of the campaign for a quality review. If it is good quality, we can then discuss a license agreement and royalty share. Send the first three missions and an outline of the entire campaign to Matt at matt@fighter-collection.com Thanks I got that reply by posting a Support question. regards, Michiel met vriendelijke groet, Михель "умный, спортсмен, комсомолетс" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SPECS: i9-9900K 32gigs RAM, Geforce 2070RTX, Creative XFi Fata1ity, TIR5, Valve Index & HP Reverb, HOTAS Warthog, Logitech G933 Headset, 10Tb storage.
RIFLE_JTAC_TRAINING Posted June 2, 2016 Author Posted June 2, 2016 I understand royalties are to be paid to ED. No question. However! If we make a model. Lets pick a B-52 for example. Do we need to pay the manufacturer of that real aircraft? I know some guys may have. Some do not and refuse to. Bushmanni Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I think licensing is an issue between the module developer and the original manufacturer. Get your lawyers out and start negotiating or finding ways around a law suit. -Rudel- Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 You don't need a license with a manufacturer, unless they directly contributed to your work. https://magnitude-3.com/ https://www.facebook.com/magnitude3llc https://www.youtube.com/@magnitude_3 i9 13900K, 128GB RAM, RTX 4090, Win10Pro, 2 x 2TB SSD, 1 x 15TB SSD U.2 i9 10980XE, 128GB RAM, RTX 3090Ti, Win10 Pro, 2 x 256GB SSD, 4 x 512GB SSD RAID 0, 6 x 4TB HDD RAID 6, 9361-8i RAID Controller i7 4960X, 64GB RAM, GTX Titan X Black, Win10 Pro, 512GB PCIe SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD
RIFLE_JTAC_TRAINING Posted June 9, 2016 Author Posted June 9, 2016 Thanks, We are weighing putting so much effort into this and potentially having someone give us a lawsuit later.
