I used this fix and honestly it broke more stuff then it fixed

I have terrible Frame loss (Used to have 60+fps V-sync ON) now i have barely 13 FPS

I've lost all external sound as well and cancel lock isn't working anymore : (

Other then the missing sound..everything is fine on my side..no fps loss, aso works properly, iff working, managed to shoot down an f-15 with r-3r and lock every target...

I've just gone at 1.4 on the deck "cat I" payload. If you are flying at high alts you need to watch the tachometer center of the front wall, that tells your current mach speed.

I like how its now difficult to achieve a lock when target is at range and or you have a cluttered radar screen. Far more difficult. All IR missile have a very wide FOV that ofc will be back to normal soon, but also IR are very easily decoyed by flare, even in close ranges.

I test the newest update in MP

I found that:

1.IR missiles is too sensitive and have wide FOV. is that correct in real life??

2.when I was lock on by others, it did not present correct tone of lock on. it should be fixed quickly.

and last, should I use these newest binaries for current situation?? or I have to wait the stable version without any bugs?? or I have to reinstall the last binaries??

I think that depends on the missile. R-60M should have wider FOV and be all-aspect like on the Mig-29 or Su-25. LN had their own R-60M that had all-aspect capability, but it was removed and the stock missile now works only as rear-aspect on the Mig-21bis.

Actually R-60M is an limited all aspect, that means not head on aspect but side, top, bottom, rear aspect. And its working fine. Don't know about the FOV tho. Right now its buged to the Migs benefit but its wrong. Even when I tested with Su-25T the R-60M was limited/narrow in FOV had to aim to the target.

So in my preliminary testing, it seems the radar, RWR and IFF are working appropriately. Glad to see it going in the right direction!

Some bugs I've noticed (not game breaking, but wanted to let you know):

1. Can't hear the engine sounds outside the cockpit.

2. I no longer see the puff of black smoke when transitioning out of afterburner. Actually, I don't think the exhaust smoke is visible at any engine setting.

3. I have an FPS drop, but to be honest I am not sure if it is definitely due to these binary fixes. I will have to test other planes and try reverting to the old files to check.

This is on version 1.5.3.52724

EDIT:

Did a bit more testing looking for bugs to help you all out:

4. From cold start, the aileron booster switch is already turned on. Not sure if this is truly a bug or intended behavior (previously I forgot that switch frequently until I was airborne...).

5. I can confirm that problems 1 & 2 are definitely present. I tried removing the fixed binaries and placing the old ones back in and I do feel that there may have been a small 5-10 FPS drop, but this is still anecdotal and cannot completely confirm, so I leave that one up in the air for others to weigh in and test.

Not sure about this, but didn't the MiG-21 do an "engine relight attempt" everytime a missile was started, to avoid engine flameout due to missile exhaust gases?!

If that is the case it's really cool. It wasn't like that before. Can we get a confirmation? :)

isn't Mach 1.2 the limit on the deck?

Beside this, these newest binaries also had the radio broken.

And the SPO10 RWR is not sensitive like before, it becomes insensitive.

I also found that it becomes difficult to use radar to lock on the target which is using ECM, the radar seems have no more ability to burn through the ECM

I think these binaries LN released is not mature yet and there are still bugs in it.

I must say honestly, it is not a useful hotfix and make MIG21 weak, especially for the environment of Multiple Player. That is what I thought after using it in recent days in multiple player.

I really hope LN can take responsibility to fix it, not just give us perfunctory works.

I decide to reinstall old binaries, so disappoint to make this choice~~

Good morning

tested now The "HOt FIx"release 16/5 on DCS 1.5.3.52724

Confirm loss of +-10 fps

- Lost volume sound of engines in external view

-"FOV" exaggerated for IR.

-Every time i release a missile i feel the sound of the engine start.

However the radar works fine, for that was the fuss about, there is nothing to stop you now from flying and fight. Plus thus was off the press ED has nothing to do with it you now can enjoy the aircraft and wait for the official update with the new fixes.

As long as the ASP pipper is freaking out as soon as I want to hit some ground targets, I guess my MiG stays behind closed hangar doors. But hey... it's Summer, let's go outside.

with this fix, not all can now fly and fight because of the loss of fps. However, I am pleased to see that they are working on and look forward to the release of a final settlement and efficient.

Thanks LN.:smilewink:

Also would like to know about an "engine relight attempt" obn missile firing, sounds very Russian and interesting

Yeah, it's stated in the RL manual:

Can't reproduce this. Do you have a track?

And the SPO10 RWR is not sensitive like before, it becomes insensitive.

This is correct and realistic behaviour. The SPO is now accurate to it's correct tonal and visual feedback.

The engine relight sound is happening due to the engine relight system- but it's obviously a bit confusing and should not be triggered.

We will fix that.

So there is an engine relight system that engages when firing implemented in the module, but the engine sound isn't supposed to be there? Am I interpreting things correctly?

Yes, the new hotfix had the radio broken, but not serious.

When I used the radio to connect to ATC for start up, ATC responded to me my request.

But when I requested ATC for taxi, and ATC keep silence.

I also requested for take off, ATC keep silence too. NO any response.

There is no any problem to connect to ATC with old binaries.

So I am sure that the newest hotfix has some bugs for connecting to ATC.

Thank you Cobra for checking this issue.

But the performance of new SPO is not better like before. it is too insensitive and reduce the defense capability of MIG21 . but since it is based on real and correct setting, I will try to accept the result.

I always play in multiple player`s server, all I want to do is to make MIG21 more stronger to against those 3rd general fighters. I really hope this change will not let me disappoint.
