Hi tacno,

 

today I tested the radio scanner but it didn't worked. :(

 

What I did/ checked:

- connected to LotATC blue side

- option "use UR": on

- location: AWACS (E-3, blue side)

- started the radio scanner

- set the frequency for radio 1 to the AWACS frequency (251.000)

- set the frequency scan pattern from 200 to 390 MHz

 

All blue aircraft talked at 327.00 MHz (Nellis Tower) or another frequency between 251.00 and 280.00 MHz, but I didn't get a signal. They used the V/UHF radio (which isn't secured,right?) or the UHF (Aux) radio, but without the secured mode.

 

Did I forgot something important?

I really want it to broadcast 13R, AUTO broadcast is 13 (but we have a parallel in 132nd).

Is this better than Simpleradio, or just different. To my understanding, this is DOES roughly the same thing as Simpleradio, only is run through TeamSpeak.

Hi Dejjvid,

You're right. Currently, the runway is determined with its main course and the wind direction. With a wind force superior at 5kts, choice of course changes. It's how works ATIS with the METAR interpretation. And that can't work well with multiple runways airbases, because only one runway is known (like DCS and AI ATC).

 

So, I recommend to you to use a personnal and vocal message, an audio file. The VSS has been created for that, and not for listening music :)

1. record your own message

2. save it as mp3, low quality and save it in \Saved Games\UniversRadio\Voices /// or copy it to a Web http server (best bandwidth)

3. From UR VSS, add a new Voice Service, browse the file, or copy the URL (don't forget to open TCP/10600 for remote clients)

UniversRadio has been designed since 2014 for large virtual Wings, complex and cooperative flights (human pilots (ejected too :music_whistling: CSAR mission !), ATC, CGI and JTAC, ATIS read above and more). These asks briefings between pilots before, so TeamSpeak channels (because best product I think) are needed for that etc...

I'd write UniversRadio is more designed for private usage like, all TeamSpeak usages.

We tested UR tonight with 3 guys from my squad and ran into a couple of problems. I'll do my best to describe them, one post per problem.

(I read through all BT tickets and this thread and think all of them are new.)

Summary: UR works only one-way until TS channel changed

Description: I connected to TS using a Standard Channel and met my fellow pilots in that channel.

After joining a DCS server and selecting an aircraft (A-10C), when I clicked on myself in TS, it showed "UR Connected". But when I clicked on the other 2 guys, there was no UR info at all. It didn't show "UR Not Connected", and it didn't show "UR Connected". There was simply nothing at all in regards to UR.

I could hear both other players over TS as if UR didn't exist.

 

One of my buddies had the exact same problem. He, too, joined TS using this channel as his Standard Channel.

 

The third one had a different Standard Channel and had to switch Channels in order to join our channel. For him, UR worked fine, and when he clicked on our users in TS, he would see "UR: Connected" (or "UR: Not connected" before we joined a DCS server).

 

After about 2 hours and lots of debugging, following guidelines, reading forums, reinstalling, restarting and pretty much everything else we could think of, we figured out that if we switched channels on TS just once, UR was working fine and as advertised.

 

Suggested solution: Either make sure that UR works for the first TS channel that a player joins, or update the manual and troubleshooting guides in order to inform users that they are required to switch channels on TS at least once.

One of my buddies has 2 screens, with the Windows Task Bar duplicated on both screens. He said with ER open, the Windows Task Bar disappeared on one of the screens, but remained available on the other screen.

 

I only have the Task Bar on my primary screen and it's just gone as soon as ER is opened and only reappears when ER is closed.

* First TS channel : I check if it's possible.

* Bug about UR export line : I'll check and fix

* A-10C Volume : I'll check and fix

* Swap VHF order. At the beginning (2014), AM was the first. US pilots asked me to swap this order, because AM (ATC and other) is the last radio in a ship. What I did. All VHF AM radios are the last. But in the AV8, AM seems the first and UHF the last. Now, it'll be difficult to change the order for the current UR users. With the last and next version of URCP names of radios are displayed according to the selected A/C, so order isn't important any more.

* UR ER... I don't feel easy with it. Display ER window above DCS and give focus to DCS is not simple. When we middle-click on URER, task-bar is back, and drag and drop, moving, will be better. I try to improve UR ER with my free time, and I hope, in secret, all DCS modules will be fully clickable :-)

 

Have a good holiday on Mine d'or beach, galettes and cider (I prefer Deutsche Biere :-) )

Cool, I didn't know about the middle click. That does indeed bring the task bar back. :thumbup:

 

Fully clickable, well, I don't see that happening for JTACs anytime soon, so even if the FC3 aircraft became fully clickable, it seems you would still have to have some type of external radio. No rest for the wicked. ;)
