burzum793 Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 (edited) I could play with the DK2 some weeks ago now that my CV1 arrived it seems that 1.5 won't detect it? I'm running 1.5.3.53279. Do I have to reinstall DCS 1.5? 2.0 works just fine with it and is great! I've already cleared my DCS profile and it still doesn't detect the CV1. Edited June 13, 2016 by burzum793

I have the latest runtime the HMD is connected, the sensors, external apps are allowed. DCS 2.0 works, Elite Dangerous works, all the software that came with the rift just not DCS 1.5.

No, doesn't make a difference. :( Any log files to check? Is there any way to enforce the VR mode? The option just says "autodetect" which doesn't work.

burzum793 Posted June 13, 2016 Author Posted June 13, 2016 (edited) I've added my whole DCS.openbeta folder. There is this line in the logs: 00008.265 ERROR VISUALIZER: unable to init OpenVR runtime: Hmd Not Found (108) https://github.com/ValveSoftware/openvr/wiki/HmdError Error 108 means: HmdError_Init_HmdNotFound (108) - Either no HMD was attached to the system or the HMD could not be initialized. But this is pretty strange because if I start DCS 2.0.2 or any other VR title it just works.DCS.openbeta.zip Edited June 13, 2016 by burzum793
Frusheen Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 My 1.5 beta won't run in oculus mode. 1.5 release and 2 are fine. I deleted all user controlled settings and it made no difference. I think the only option is to reinstall. __________________________________________________Win 10 64bit | i7 7700k delid @ 5.1gHz | 32Gb 3466mhz TridentZ memory | Asus ROG Apex motherboard | Asus ROG Strix 1080Ti overclocked Komodosim Cyclic | C-tek anti torque pedals and collective | Warthog stick and throttle | Oculus Rift CV1 | KW-908 Jetseat | Buttkicker with Simshaker for Aviators RiftFlyer VR G-Seat project: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2733051#post2733051

Easiest way to re-install, Delete Open Beta Files and Subfolders, Delete Open Beta Saved Games (or re-name so you can move your input settings back). Copy 1.5 Release, Paste, Rename Folder, Add dcs_variant.txt w/ openbeta name Run the Command to Convert to Open Beta (which will change branch in the AutoUpdate.CFG, but give you a prompt already beign on the latest version, as OB and RL are the same right now.) Verify it was converted to OB, open AutoUpdate.CFG Line 3 should read: "branch": "openbeta", quick and easy, no re-downloading, and you take a working install and convert it to OB. hellking Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I am having the same problem... It was working fine when I had 1.5.3 v7. Then I installed 1.5.4 and had the black screen problem. Oculus was still successfully being detected at that time. While trying to solve the black screen problem, DCS suddenly stopped detecting the Rift... Log shows this: 00001.599 ERROR VISUALIZER: unable to init OpenVR runtime: Hmd Not Found (108) The strange thing is 2.0 Open Alpha is still detecting the Rift. All other games are also detecting Rift.. So Oculus Rift is not the problem. I have tried: 1) Copying over options.lua and adding the VR text (gets rid of the settings crash, but Oculus still cannot be detected) 2) Uninstalling and reinstalling DCS Open Beta (tried this twice) 3) Unplug/plug the HMD, switch to a different USB 4) Repair (tried this 3 times) 5) Update to old version 1.5.3 6) Deleting DCS Open Beta folders (both in My Games and Program Files) None of these worked.. Even the version which worked before, is not working.. It is unbelievable.. I have to stick with 2.0 Open Alpha and hope that 1.5 is going to come back.... Sigh...
dissignator Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Same Problem here ... but 1.5 is runing and 2.0 is not!

Heliking I think you should try Skatezillas method. I removed and redownloaded my 1.5beta twice as I had a very early beta installed which would not show in the rift after updating. When reinstalling it pulls a lot of files from my 2.0 install rather than redownloading them. Both times the rift was still not being detected. When I copied and converted my 1.5 release version to beta it finally worked. I suspect something is different in the oculus implementation between 1.5 and 2.0 which is not being updated by the installer or is being installed incorrectly. __________________________________________________Win 10 64bit | i7 7700k delid @ 5.1gHz | 32Gb 3466mhz TridentZ memory | Asus ROG Apex motherboard | Asus ROG Strix 1080Ti overclocked Komodosim Cyclic | C-tek anti torque pedals and collective | Warthog stick and throttle | Oculus Rift CV1 | KW-908 Jetseat | Buttkicker with Simshaker for Aviators RiftFlyer VR G-Seat project: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2733051#post2733051
burzum793 Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Skatezillas method worked, but I did a clean install. Today I've applied the update to my 1.5 beta install and it stopped working again. :( The error in the log file was the same. I'm copying my 1.5 install and try the upgrade to 1.5 beta now. Do I have to re-install it now each time an update is available? It would be nice if this gets fixed.
Green Lantern Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Oculus Rift won't work with 1.5 but works fine with 2.0 I built a computer and bought the oculus rift cv1 to fly DCS in VR. I've had the unit for about 2 weeks now and 1.5 won't work at all (like the others have posted). Enable VR is checked but the game doesn't recognized the CV1. At the same time if I click on 2.0 it works just fine.
Green Lantern Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Update So after reading the post here I downloaded the 1.5 beta and it works! Now I have 3 DCS versions running 2.0 Open Alpha, 1.5 Open Beta, 1.5 Actual and the actual is the only one the does not work with the CV1
