mytai01 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 There is not ground effect at all on this thing. I can make a slow decent and it continues all the way to the ground with no noticeable ground effect. Is that how it really is? 1 MS Win7 Pro x64, Intel i7-6700K 4.0Ghz, Corsair RAM 16Gb,EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0, w/ Adjustable RGB LED Graphics Card 08G-P4-6286-KR, Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Champ PCIe Sound Card, Corsair Neutron XTI 1TB SSD, TM Warthog Throttle & Stick, TM TPR Pedels, Oculus Rift VR Headset CV1, Klipsch Promedia 4.1 Speakers...
BronzeYardNo11 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 It's there, it's just not as much as a huey though. It's a smaller airframe, not a lot of surface for air to bounce off of. 1 ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give OH-6 ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
Yurgon Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 (edited) My impression is that ground effect is actually incredibly strong. When I come in straight and level to land on a rooftop, the chopper will bounce into the sky as soon as I'm over the roof, and I have to push the collective almost all the way down just to maintain altitude, let alone descend. I don't know if that's what it's like in the real chopper. The Huey's ground effect modelling feels very spot-on to me, but I can't say if one or the other is more correct. Edit: X-post WTF?! Is this so important that you have to bring it up twice in 6 minutes? Edited June 19, 2016 by Yurgon
ESAc_matador Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I am finding very difficult to do the taxi, at 3-5 ft and just 10-15kmh... any recomendation? 1
BronzeYardNo11 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 any recomendation? Wait for ED to release the next update, hopefully with the new Gazelle changes. ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give OH-6 ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
Mt5_Roie Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 New update will make little tweaks to the FM which should help. But remember it all comes with time. You didn't learn to drive a car in one day, so flying a helicopter is no different. Took me about three weeks once I joined the team to get comfortable flying her as low speeds and take off and landings. I'm still no expert either. 1 Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
