Should mapping the buttons to my HOTAS look like useful to change in Flight from AA1 to AA2. Once you have tasted Flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your Eyes turned Skyward. At some point, we are watching the action through the eye of an over-the-shoulder camera. I have not played DCS in a long time now. I do not remember having seen such camera angle. Is it new? IvanK Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 set HUD mode to AA Gun Mode 2 and hit the lock button once (goes to some kind to auto lock mode) to get a propper aiming with the pipper Gun Mode 2 (GA2) is designed for easy maneuvering targets ... pretty much standard LCOSS with all the usual tracking/settling times to get a valid solution. Ftr v Ftr you are better using GA1 which is in effect a snapshot sight. Regardless of Gunsight selected mode selecting Dogfight Guns (DG) will put you in GA1 with boresight radar lock out to 5600ft range. (the sight head switch will remain on whatever its selected on). Hitting Return to search will then take you back to whatever mode you have selected on the sight. so IMO unless you are trying to gun a relatively non maneuvering target you are always better off in GA1.

Basher Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 This video is pretty good about explaining a lot of F-5 systems as told by a former Northrop Aero Engineer. It even explains the little doors that open as you fire the guns. Northrop built this little plane to be pretty tough and it shows in this video. I am really liking this aircraft! Reminds me of a lot of vietnam books I read as a kid and I hope that we can have a vietnam style server some day with F-5's vs Mig-21's + MiG-15's (serving as MiG-17's). ${1} EDIT:
