The best engine sound mod in my opinion.

P-51D TF-51D Audio Production 3.0 + P-51D Weapons 3.0 by Diveplane

There is a "whine" sound already in game but you need to pull some G's to hear it.

I've been using Diveplane's mod for quite a while. Now flying without it feels like having your balls removed. You dick is still there, but it's just not as much fun :smilewink:

If it helps I use these two sound mods together for the stang I feel like these combined are really good, the scream mod might be a bit overdone but it's such a sexy sound :D

Gremiha's mod would replace the engine sound, to that's off the table.

5tuka's mod, it seams to be whistling just all the time without much cause. Compared to the first video, which is of a real P-51D, that should not be the case.

I'm not sure if Diveplane's mod has altered the whistle. I don't hear it from the cockpit, that I can remember.

Maybe if somebody modded just the whistle... :music_whistling:

Thanks for all of your posts. I think Im spoiled by Tiger 33's Fly by Sounds for IL2 1946, he did an awesome job with his Sounds.

I dont take any thing from Diveplane He is good as well...

No prob, ya the stock sounds are a bit on the lawnmowerish side for me as well compared to other titles out there. If you are flying online though, most of the time the views are restricted to internal only so it's not like you would hear the whistle a whole lot anyways unless you are under heavy G's. I agree, it would be nice if ED revisited the Mustangs sound a bit but there are bigger fish to fry with the whole 1944 and coming 2.5 merger.

ahah

very good reference !

but Tiger 33 won't work for DCS moding until there's a more powerfull sound system inside DCS, if there is one day ...

He have made awesome work also on BOS and CLOD, but not a public release. you can find it on vimeo or youtube.
