The issue is not that the A10 can or can't take out an airfield by itself, it's that its a magnet for enemy CAP and comparing the 2 is not really possible because one is fixed wing and one is rotary. The KA50, though it takes longer is nota a magnet for CAP. Yes, they can find it, but it can land and turn off and disappear from heat and radar, lift off again once the threat has passed and continue. The A10 can't do that. The KA50 is much harder to find and can call in bombers. I think if you remove the bombers from the equation from both the Gazelle and the KA50 this would no longer be an issue. Let the Hawk and L39 do what they did last round and call in the bombers.

 

Again, this was not an issue until the KA50 could call in the bombers. Look back through this thread you'll see that that is the primary issue here. I really don't think either should be able to do it. Yes, they should be able to do it in real life, but this isn't real life.

 

For those that argue, well shoot down the bombers, fine, but that's not my point. My point is that if you want to compare the A10 to the KA50 then give it the ability to call in bombers and Ill be happy. :)

And I get hydro failure, no, sorry, eject eject eject from every Igla gracing me. As I said, the Mirage is not that big of a factor since it has no functional A/G capability. The damage issue is something we all need to address to Razbam but be honest, both faults are well known over a long time and just overlooked. But instead of chaning we say, well, we're even. There was a post on the FB group about a 29 gliding home 60km, with one wing, no engines, no hydro, no acs, nothing. And he could land it. Show me that you can do that with the Mirage and it might be even. But banter aside, why keep stuff in that's broken for so long time? Because there are still people that scream (against all physical evidence) that it's a lie. Just imagine Ciri would listen and say "Hey guys, no M2K and MiG-29 for round 9". The outcry would be heard on the moon. I only had few encounters with Mirage, so I will not doubt your word, but plenty with the MiG-29 so, please, do agree that both aircraft are broken and need to be taken off the chart for now.

 

 

Why stop there you can draw up so many anomalies for both sides.

Regarding the MiG-29 the toughness of the MiG comes mostly from side-on hits just like the Mirage but where the Mirage excels over the MiG is with head on hits, the Mirage just laughs at missiles from this aspect.

Waiting to duel you in a Tiger UHT as soon as that comes out. ;D

 

I think the Tiger might be more of a challenge than the Apache. I always look forward to any duels :)

I will tell you muh dreams, sit there in the nighthawk equipped BO105 at 15km range, lazing enemy helos, mirage comes in space bombs them, puff heli gone. ))) We wil see how that works out as soon as we have the korean bo105. :DD

 

The overall thing is really I know the KA50 systems back and forth, I just am really not that good at spotting shit :D. I am clearly missing SA and patience sometimes.

Although I loved to do the land thing to redfor last two rounds as well. You can read up on round 7 thread I think, where rocco talked about it. :DD Unfortunately muh UH1 transport buddy nero isnt here. :( We were sneaking around red assets left right and center. :D But the CAP situation was kinda better

for blue I feel, so the bomber had higher survivability and was an more interesting tool then it is right now.

 

You would also see some mirage low level strikes from me, problem is all the pippers viable for low level attack are broken atm... x)

So its really not worth the risk going there, if you dont even know if your freaggin CCIP will work.

Depends what model we're talking about. The major advantage for the KA50 is the coaxial rotors. NOTHING can out climb or out manuever the KA50!

Lol @ people comparing KA50 to the A10C. A10's can't get anywhere near a base or farp unless they have at least 4-5 CAP in the area lest they be shot down by AI mig29's or enemy players. I saw 2 Mig29 players suppress 2 a10's and 4 CAP mix of F15's and Mirages.

 

As a helo pilot I can tell you we are almost impossible to find if flown correctly, I have been shot down a total of 3 times since I started flying the Huey, and 2 of those were because I got too close to a farp with Shilkas/Strelas and they sniped me out of my cockpit. If I could carry the kinds of weapons a KA-50 can I would easily destroy anything I wanted undetected. I have snuck troops up close but they don't seem to be able to actually take out anything--if troops could take down base defenses I would be able to take anything I wanted in a Huey easily.

 

As it stands I have to sit and wait for hours sometimes for CAP/CAS in jets to clear the base out. I'm not saying it takes no skill to kill everything in a KA50, just that its a lot easier than it is in the A10 since you have far fewer obstructions.

Because it starts autolatzing if close and you jump out .... And you have to get in so close to actually laze vehicle sized targets that you get engaged by shilka 9/10 times.

Its a nice thing if you have the time and superiority, but nothing to take any assets really.

Yeah high and hot performance is reaaaly hard to beat but maneuverability the tiger has the edge. Pretty sure will search some footage later but its maneuverable as fuggg since its pretty lightweight. :)

That's what everyone says, You can ask anyone that flys with me. I have never rolled on the roads anywhere. Same with the whole tree scenario, I don't park INSIDE trees. If there is an opening anywhere to fit my KA50, I go there.

I dunno about you guys, but I do not care one way or the other how the round goes, as long as I am having fun. Balance will be addressed, I'm confident. There's no need for hostility toward each other (EDIT: or blatant hyperbole soliciting such hostility, haha).

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm down for a Blue win and and kicking Red's dick in the dirt, but in the end, if it goes the other way - Sa da tay my main daime. You just have to sine your piddy on the runny kine.

I dont think you udnerstand what I mean, due to the bugged gazelle ground interaction model it sometimes gets lit on fire if you touchdown within even 50% of the specified landing params, and then you start rolling over and over even on flat ground. Burning, pilots blacked out, stuff like that.

 

And its literally so frusttrating because there is no way to avoid it. :D

 

Didnt mean anything with parking in trees or rolling on the ground. :)

 

Only did go full ifv mode once in the kamov. Mig29 flew so close to me trying to gun me so i lost one blade, no problem tovarish, bump the back in a upward slope trimm it stationary and keep engaging with vikhrs. xD

Oh I wasn't aware Gazelles had issues. I don't have that module, so I wasn't aware of any problems with it. I was only commenting on roads and trees, because most people seem to think that's what I do.

Wasn't around for that campaign, so without knowing the rest of the conditions I can't disagree/agree with you.

 

From what I understand it was not NATO vs Russia though so whatever specific combination you had on redfor may have worked very well......and I am guessing you also had the KA50 since you fly that pretty exclusively from what I understand... soo common thread again is the KA50 wins games.

You should be careful speaking in absolutes. Yesterday I closed a FARP by myself in an A-10C with 4 Mavericks, 3 GBU-12s and some 30mm. The ONLY reason we didn't capture the FARP outright was because the person flying the Huey's game crashed. We were looked at a few times by various fighters but they rans away when the single fighter CAP we had turned toward them.

I was saying in general, people say that's what I do to avoid jets. I'm not going to put my secrets out there during the campaign. But I have always been available to teach other people what I know about the KA50. I also love to hear feedback, especially when it helps me become even better.
