It`s crazy, but since the 1.5.4, the cockpit is shaking like crazy when standing still on the ground. What did you mess up now LN?! Stop these "updates", you are messing up my MiG more and more

Really though, it`s crazy, I cannot confirm any such behavior from vids I`ve seen of the real thing. It must be a bug. It shakes a little less when you taxi, but still quite a bit.

Keep in mind it`s not similar to the other issue posted below in the thread, here you can see the whole aircraft airframe vibrating, not only the view.

I solved this problem by setting the cockpit-shake level to 0 in the options!

HW-Specs: Ryzen 5800x | Gigaybte RTX 3080 | 32Gb DDR4-4000 | 2x M.2 970Evo + SSDs| LG 34" 21:9

It has nothing to do with Cockpit shake level. It`s abnormal behavior. Cockpit shaking should be in 100% if you want it realistic, but this behavior is not.

LN, if you need, I`l provide a recording of it. But cannot imagine you aren`t experiencing it.

zero shaking at zero speed on ground here.

Btw 100% cockpit shake is way too much to be realistic IMO, but that's why there's an adjustment slider ;)

The matter of realism is opinion independent, so irrelevant what one thinks. That is what visually corresponds to the real thing. If you prefer it different, then it`s your choice. But the fact that this happens is not correct. Now let`s not derail this bug report anymore ;)

Most likely it's what I call "so veeeery cold" frantic microshake introduced with the latest patch. Cockpit shake level set to 100 at my end since ever, no trackir - simple mouselook used. Default 'Take off' Mig21 instant mission. Also note the AoA indicator gauge acting funny, though I'm not sure whether it is related to the issue.

My only guess is that I've parked on some kind of binary "bump" which should shake your cockpit a little as you pass over it.

Please excuse the poor quality of recording, it was done in haste, YT re-encoded it and compressed even further. However I commend YT for detecting that something is amiss indeed and offering me some assistance :P

I've read the manual when the module came out and remember it stating that 100 is default, hence I never adjusted it. But the option is there made available for reason, so why not to use it. Also I've observed no difference with the ground shake issue reported here between values 0 and 100, so it might be unrelated.

After double-checking, it reads: "COCKPIT SHAKE LEVEL - you can tune the level of cockpit shake with this slider. The default value is 100%, meaning normal cockpit shake level. If you fly precise aerobatics for example, you might want to set 0% cockpit shake for increased flight precision. Maximum shake level (e.g. for video filming) is 200%."

That is a rather brutal shake...I have my slider at cockpit shake level also set on 100 and do not experience this kind of shaking on ground while taxiing. Altough I fly missions from ME..should try the quick missions

Thanks Spectrum, at least now some of us can see what the thread is about. I haven't noticed this... yet. I'd even say 1.5.4 was improvement for me, as it got rid of the dreaded view-skip bug, which did affect my install.

There might be some new bug creeping in though, manifesting only in certain scenarios, so I'll check this mission right away on my PC and report back.

What is the wind direction and speed? Could it be related to the Mirage wind problem?

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=171022

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

OK, after doing some testing in both instant "take off" and custom missions, there's bug here and it IS a wind related problem - if there's a few m/s wind, which is not blowing lateral to airplane axis, the AoA sensor on the nose pitot gets crazy (also shown on AoA indicator in the pit), and since the stall shake effects are tied to that device, we're getting stall-type shake in cockpit.

Edit - added this observation as a comment to the bug tracker, under a similar (probably the same) bug poorly reported by someone else. It should be looked into then.

Precisely this

As to the thing with cockpit shaking, sure if someone wants to adjust it to their own liking, then sure. But I love it realistic, the shaking which you recorded is not. Never seen it in a single video, nor did it behave like that before (I assume it was right before because of the evidence from videos, manual and primarily literature). I don`t want to miss out on cockpit shaking where it should be, while compromising on this bug. That`s all. Hope LN can fix this ASAP.

Again, thx for recording it for me

And yes, can confirm this. Did a little bit of experimenting and the issue was gone without wind. Always at least a couple m/s wind in my/-=BFU=- missions. That explains things

So it was the cold wind's direction responsible for all this?? Next time I will bring my trusty ushanka! :prop:

Great that you guys figured the cause. Hopefully it can be fixed in the future patch (along with that missing high-AoA sound, would be sweet). Cheers!

I have the latest DCS version and have experienced shaking with the shake control set to zero.

I can confirm the cockpit shake in 1.5.4.55169 and that it's gone with no wind. This would also explain why there was no cockpit shake inside a HAS but it started while leaving it.

Thanks for figuring this out!

That would explain why there is shake while stationary but smooths out when you start moving instead of the original severe shake after throttling up on takeoff roll.

My friend said we were cold in the cockpit... he was closer than I thought.

My guess is that shaking started because you started moving and at some point reached a certain speed in relation to the wind.

My guess is that you will see that while stationary in a HAS if winds are strong enough and direction is right.

After testing, networking mode, at least dynamic weather, the aircraft was born at the airport, the cabin will begin to gradually shake, the engine did not start, this is certainly not normal.

Yes I agree. The default missions, everything works fine. In multiplayer cockpit shakes without the engine running. The mission editor, I created the mission. He walked into the cockpit and he was shaking without starting the engine. :pilotfly:
