Avernus Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 HI guys. Been forced offline due to Eagles new IC system. The files/folder pertaining to 'views.lua' is blacklisted as of then. I request an alternative method to remedy this horrid issue. This is also affecting the other modules with their own view.lua files within their own folder. Cheers
ron533 Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 +1 same issue here. the file/value that is edited is DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MIG-21bis\Entry\03_Views.lua line 10: CameraViewAngleLimits = { 30.0, 105.0 }, changing FOV limit 105 to 150. can't pass IC.... but its a must have for triple monitors guys. Callsign SETUP
Cobra847 Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Fixed- will be available in the next patch. FoV limit increased to 150 deg. Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
JanTelefon Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Here's a temporary fix that I have been using since the IC issue appeared. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=169688
Golo Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Fixed- will be available in the next patch. FoV limit increased to 150 deg. Great, and those of us who use single monitors what? We will have stupid fisheye view with 150 FOV. And if we try to change it in LUAs we will fail IC.

And if we try to change it in LUAs we will fail IC. the FOV limit is how much you can zoom out, but you can still zoom in so it's not fisheyed... Avernus Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 Outstanding!. Cobra, may i ask if there will be a slider akin to the mi8?
Frederf Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 There's been a FOV axis control the whole time.
Golo Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 I dont use axis for zoom, im using max, min and normal (my saved value) zoom. And this new setup I dont like a one bit. Let the multiscreen users modify their setup so they can fail IC check not me.
Frederf Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 You don't like the maximum limit has been changed? How does that affect you?
zaelu Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 (edited) FoV limit. Meaning: you can zoom out more in the game than you can right now. There are cases (I admit I am one of them) where exactly that is a problem. I use zoom on axis and finding the same middle point with an axis is difficult (especially a spiky one) and a bit nauseating . Example: I fly with FOV 100°. If I want to scan a zone of the sky for a contact I might use zoom so I twist the zoom wheel and zoom in that patch of sky. After I spotted the contact (or not) I want to zoom back to the same 100° FOV with my axis (no button snap button and other tricks) so what I do is "slam" the zoom wheel back to the max out position which... in my case is exactly 100°. I don't want to go never beyond 100° because it's ugly and fighting to find the spot manually is nauseating (as I said especially if the axis is spiking). Also in combat adding this extra task of fighting the zoom wheel for few seconds to find a good spot for normal zoom level is not to be desired. So to sum up, some might want only the range from Normal zoom to Zoom In and NOT the range from Normal to Maximum zoom out. Like some might not want the cream on the coffee... at all, even if it can be removed with a spoon... almost and take a bit of work. After the next Patch Mig21 will not have this ability without breaking the IC. I know is not a problem of DCS Mig21Bis module but maybe you LNS could point this out to ED since you had a decent setup until now (the only one). I created a thread a while ago in wish list area about this issue. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=171225 PS Or maybe some settings in Special tab like Mi-8 has for zoom? Golo Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Yes what Zaelu said, except I dont use axis for zoom. That EDs views IC check is terrible idea, and I made thread about that too some time ago.
Ramsay Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I don't want to go never beyond 100° because it's ugly and fighting to find the spot manually is nauseating (as I said especially if the axis is spiking). Also in combat adding this extra task of fighting the zoom wheel for few seconds to find a good spot for normal zoom level is not to be desired. As you use an axis, you should be able to reduce the max. zoom (y saturation) in settings/axis tuning to your liking. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
zaelu Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 That would be an idea but also something like this will be easier and satisfy other people that don't use like me an axis (like Golo above) I think also the drop down custom cockpit livery would be nice to have in Mig21 but that is a different thing. Golo Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Well, since you changed max FOV to 150, I expect you will also tell me how do I set it back to what it was without violating IC.
zaelu Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 We need to know how that special page is setup in luas so we could alter it there and maybe it will not fail IC since the actual view06.lua file will remain untouched. Although a setting like Mi-8 has would be perfect for Mig21 and satisfy everyone I keep wondering why BST didn't set up 3 sliders for Mi8 since it has 3 pilots and each view is kinda needing a bit of different FOV, especially the engineer can use a much larger one and also why the other BST planes and helicopters don't have this great setting? Golo Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I agree, Mi-8 solution with some more thoughts in it would be perfect. This really is one of the features that should be adopted by ED and made required standard for all modules.
