Why doesn't it look like this as far as shadowing?

Could be an older screenshot that is "new" to us. It could also be due to time of day the screenshot was taken.

The Hornet is in the sim and being worked on in the sim. Matt tells me to quit bugging him all the time because he is concentrating on the documentation creation... I am disappointed everyday its not released, but I understand what goes into the creation of these modules.

Don't get me wrong, I am being patient and not complaining or anything, I was just curious. I appreciate the update and screen shot.

I want them to do it right, not quick.

Oh, and stop bugging Matt. :)

No worries, I just dont want to get carried away, like assuming ED would need to photoshop an image of the Hornet... we cant get too silly.

"DCS: Spitfire LF Mk IX and the Normandy map, and both are, or will be soon, going into internal test! This is always a good sign that we are approaching an Early Access release."

Thinking out loud...Hmmm...So if this is true, it stands to reason 2.5 has to be near early access as well since we need 2.5 for the map access. No one wants another separate install and I doubt ED would be considering that.

Its possible it could install with the NTTR Alpha. But nothing has been determined yet.

All you need for the Hornet Module is DCS World. SoH could come much later, which is ok by me!

So it could drop anytime on its own.

I mean, within the "limits" if you know what I mean, that makes sense, Normandy and Spitfire were made for each other. Normandy + Hornet don't make sense..

Ah, yea. My guess is they will come out at the same time.

Technically 2.5 is DCS w/ the new Lightning Engine / Shaders etc.

New Terrains could run on DCS 2.0, 2.5 is not required.

ED needs to release 2.5 ASAP because DCS graphic engine could become obsolete before the release. In the world of programmation time is gold!

What i hope for 2.5 to bring is stability and a more accurate debuging for 3rd party teams. That way I can enjoy my favourite module once again aftet a long time. Honestly graphics and all the candys are good but srability and usefull features is goin to sky rocket this sim platform.

Did not know that...guess I missed something...thanks for the info.

Then it might be possible Normandy comes in before the revamped Caucuses?

Do we have a pending list of what 2.5 will bring? Besides combining everything into a single executable which will allow map switching within the app.

Thanks,

Thanks,

It's already a single exe. I was confused why that was in the newsletter, as that was a 1.5 feature. Really it should have said single version of the exe, so we don't need all the branches, I'm assuming it's just a translation issue again.

Similar thing to mentioning the Spitfire going to internal test, Sith let slip he's been testing it already.

Either way, all images look pretty good, looking forward to actually getting the content into a public version of DCS. Future's looking very promising.
