Boomer_QLD
Hi I'm just wondering if anyone has had a large performance hit since upgrading to 1.5.5.58891 I was running on high settings with some stuff turned off to optimize. 1.53 had me running around 60FPS to 100FPS depending on location Immediately after upgrading my FPS is 18-25. With 30 possible occasionally when up high and away from the airbase. Switching to medium totally stock settings had no effect on FPS. I'm not prepared to run on low for any reason ;-) System specs ASUS Z170 Deluxe with I7 6700K @4.00Ghz 32Gb Kingston HYperX Fury 2400MHz DDR4 RAM Samsung 950 Pro 512GB M.2 NVME ASUS GTX 780 3Gb I'm still getting great frame rates 60- 130 FPS in DCS 2.0 NEVADA What has changed from V1.53-V1.55 that's killing the frames? Yes I realize the video card is older, but it was doing just fine until the last update. Cheers Boomer
ram0506
Since the update I have a much lower performance, too. I´m playing with an Oculus rift and now over cities I fall down to 22FPS, whereas I had only small drops below 45 FPS before the update (same settings as before). j0nx
Me too with Rift as well. I had the ASW set to 45 and I am getting many dips to low 20's now with version prior to the most recent. I updated to the most recent build on Friday but have not had a chance to test the frame rate with this version yet. Jeepyb
I noticed the same thing and I reverted back to 1.5.4 but the performance loss is still there. Have you guys considered the Nov 11 Oculus update to be the problem ? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Callsign: BUNZ https://www.5vwing.com/
Art-J
Boomer, You shouldn't have to run on low. I use a 3GB 780 too, with just a tad faster CPU and my performance (with medium-high settings & 1200p resolution) hasn't dropped. However, after the update I deleted options.lua, as I usually do, plus, I'm on Win7 and 368.81 drivers (probably best performing ones for older cards). i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10. Boomer_QLD
Hi Thanks for everyone's replies. I realize now my post should have gone into the "release version" thread. :-) I'm on Windows 10 64, im not using Oculus. I'm using the latest Nvidia drivers. I have a 1980 x 1200 16:10 monitor plus a smaller 15" monitor for exporting MFD's and kneeboard. This was working well, pre update. I was getting good playable frame rates on 1.53 as indicated in my first post, at mostly high settings. After the 1.55 update, it's dropped to under 20FPS at the airbase now in MP. This does nothing for the feeling of realism in game as aircraft jerk their way down the runway. :-) Hopefully there is a fix out there, I don't think with my current hardware configuration, I should have to upgrade my video card to a 1080 to be able to play the latest update at reasonable fidelity and frame-rate. MilesD
1.5 frame rate drop in Rift Same here with the Rift. When things get busy the frame rate drops significantly, even with i7 6700k and 980ti. intenseas
Same problem, DCS is no longer playable in RIFT. Is there a work around or can I revert to previous version? It is definitely an issue with the update. BitMaster
The driver from last week had a glitch guys, hotfix came a few days later, still, I would take the older driver mentioned above, 368.81. running the old one, 368.81, and a newer one, 375.70, both seem ok, but I wouldnt use the one of this/last week.
