I'm no real-world engineer. I'm just an electrotechnics/compsci student with a minor aspect in physics.

The NATO D-Band is a 1GHz-2GHz portion of the spectrum. L-Band is either 0.5GHz-~1.5GHz by IEEE definition or 40GHz-60GHz in case of the NATO L-Band. Ergo, the NATO L-Band you suggested is definitely not equal to the NATO D-Band. If they do share the frequency spectrum (in case of the IE3-L and the NATO-D), you've still got a margin of -0.5GHz downwards for the IE3-L and +0.5 for NATO-D.

Thought that needed clarification. Either way, jeez. You people are bickering about the shape of the antenna on a model. Grab photos, post them here, highlight and circle out the antenna and then discuss, right now, to a casual observer, you're pulling facts and factoids from where the sun don't shine.

S~.

LOL...I deal with it IRL EVERY DAY! :D What am I bickering about other than the shape of the antenna? NOTHING!!! It is other "I know it all" morons who want you all to think an aircraft has some "super-secret" means of IFF. I don't care what name you give it "Parol X" , or "Viagra", it is still an L-band system, no matter how many times a know-it-all tries to dispose of it with his book knowledge. BTW...I could provide a link to the service manuals for a GTX327 or KT76C...but that would violate my terms of service as an authorized dealer. So, I guess I'll just have to be characterized as someone who pulls facts out of my arse...or I can just be accepted because of my nationality, but not be expected to know a damn THING of which I write. Yeah...that seems fair! :D

Roger that Alfa. Getting hit with PMs too though...I'm sure you are very familiar with those. ;)

I was kind enough not to be assumptuous about your nationality, so the least you could do is to stop putting words in my mouth. I've seen people of many nationalities who didn't know a damn thing about their topic, and I've seen as many who knew what they're talking about - but then again, they were divided into people who give their facts as "status quo" or provide some links confirming them.

I said "to a casual observer". That also includes anyone who's posting facts that are contended, like the whole D/L band issue. Let's see some links, some snippets, screenshots, photos, anything. Surely, there has to be some place on the net where it's explained or at least one source of information that claims D/L are exactly the same - or not.

personally i think this is an interesting topic but prehaps a little OT, maybe you could start your own thread or website on D and L Band freq's ?

I dont want to get this thread locked before Chizh can tell when ED will release my new baby ! :)

Who cares about the IIF and aerials on the Frog in Lockon none of them actually do anything lol !!

Great model. Since currently the Su-25 is my main ride in LOMAC ( AFM but not the brick version ) I am realy looking forward to it.

Together with the improvements of BS ( ground AI, AAA etc. ) the new 3d model will greatly add to the Su-25 expierience. Perhaps I will even make a Red Hammer 2 campaign for it...

All of the models -excepting SU-25T- in lockon need a Hi-res version. I think it's fair

My rig specs:

Intel Core i7 4770 @3.4Ghz // Corsair 16GB DDR3 // MoBo Asus Z87K // HDD 1TB 7200RPM // eVGA Nvidia GTX 760GT 2GB DDR5 // LG 3D 47" 1920x1080 // Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS // Saitek Combat Pro Pedals // Thrustmaster MFD Cougar pack // PS3 Eye + FTNOIR

However, I seriously don't care about the F15 or the mig 29. lol! ....sorry F15 and mig29 fanboys...

I should have your head on a stick. But with me being a nice guy and all Ill let you go off with a warning...this time.:joystick:

Edit: Whoa....old resurrected thread.

К сожалению летабельный Су-25СМ мы пока сделать не сможем по причине полного отсутствия информации. Сочинять очередной "Су-25Т" больше не хочется.

ED not interested add another Su-25.

Give me "flying telephone pole" (SA-2)!

What! "sequential "Su-25T" is not desirable! I desire sequential!

Seriously, the avionics are similar to those on the Ka-50 and the external 3d model and AFM/ADM are done. So all that would be needed are improvements to the modeling of internal systems and cockpit.

I can't believe that a Su-25T isn't planned for release after the A-10 and AH-64!

The real translation would be 'another', another su-25T. But still, I'd like a new su-25 model, but if the damage moddeling and the fatal engine fire engine bugs aren't fixed it makes it less attractive.
