Lenux Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Instead you want to mount to the rear side which has 4 bolts connecting straight to the gimbal housing providing far superior mounting strength. But will those 4 holes match, with this ? https://postimg.org/image/4gxz9aeb9/ I9 12900k@ 5 GHz | 32 GB DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming Wifi d4| RTX 3090 | 6 TB SSD + 8 TB HDD | 4K Samsung Q90R 55" | VKB MK III PRO L | Virpil Throttle MONGOOST-50 | MFG Crosswind | TrackIR5

Lenux Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 I'm not sure, but it should go something like this But i dont know about the distances I9 12900k@ 5 GHz | 32 GB DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming Wifi d4| RTX 3090 | 6 TB SSD + 8 TB HDD | 4K Samsung Q90R 55" | VKB MK III PRO L | Virpil Throttle MONGOOST-50 | MFG Crosswind | TrackIR5
tintifaxl Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Not having the possibility to fasten the base from the underside should be remedied in the next revision of the base. Windows 10 64bit, Intel i9-9900@5Ghz, 32 Gig RAM, MSI RTX 3080 TI, 2 TB SSD, 43" 2160p@1440p monitor.

I agree. That's the solution that makes sense, and I have produced a similar plate for my own T-50. I have already communicated dimensions to Monstertech, and they were ordering a T-50. Lenux Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 what about my latest post / picture ?? shouldn't that work ? LeCuvier Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 (edited) what about my latest post / picture ?? shouldn't that work ? Yes, except I made the horizontal part of my plate much shorter (about 80 mm) in the interest of stability. Edit: My original response above was looking at Sokol's solution. This is basically the right solution, and it's also what Cyph3r suggested. If you mount the T-50 base on top of a straight plate, the grip will be too high in my opinion. Also the current holes in the bottom plate of the T-50 are too far apart to be used with the Monstertech plate for the TM WH stick. You would have to drill new holes the the T-50 bottom plate. Lenux Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 (edited) Ah, ok. But this should be stable enough, I guess By the way, although it wouldn't look nice, it seems that the MongoosT 50 base could be mounted / screwed on the pc desk Edited September 27, 2017 by Lenux I9 12900k@ 5 GHz | 32 GB DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming Wifi d4| RTX 3090 | 6 TB SSD + 8 TB HDD | 4K Samsung Q90R 55" | VKB MK III PRO L | Virpil Throttle MONGOOST-50 | MFG Crosswind | TrackIR5
Winger Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Guys together with the drawing provided by VPC you can go ahead and create your own cut vector using illustrator or other vectorprograms and have it produced (including chamfering) at http://www.geerscutting.de They offer all sorts of metals and thicknesses. I had them produce lots of stuff for me. They are cheap and deliver good quality. They sometimes take a while since they got lots of work thou. Here is my setup: https://www.pic-upload.de/view-33999922/VPC.jpg.html The aluminium mountingplate you see where my T50 is mounted in is lasercut by geers.

Winger Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 (edited) I think there is consensus that the T-50 is too high for that. not if you screw it UNDER the desk. I was considering using a VPC base for my left hand as well and had Geerscutting cut a 5mm aluminium with the vectors as seen in the screenshot. This way its comfortable to use when sitting on a standard officechair. I would do one modification on this vector. The outermost screws only hold the actual gimbal indirectly. Thats actually the screews that attach the upper facing plate with the outer housing and not the gimbal itself. So either modifying the cutlines so the innermost screws are the ones used would be advisable OR simply using this cutvector and adding 2 holes in the front so you can use the U-shaped mountingbracked thats delivered with the T50. The one thats also used to attach the T50 to their own deskmount. The holes on the left are for woodscrews so you can attach it to the deskplate from below. Here is the actual DXF file of the vector if anyone needs it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/z2w59ppmks57vxm/Virpil_Centerplate.dxf?dl=0 Edited September 29, 2017 by Winger

Winger Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Actually Cyph3r would it be awesome if we could get a technical drawing (maybe a PDF so the vectors are still editable) of the upper faceplate including the holes for the springpressure adustment screws. We could then modify the outer contour to our needs. Is that possible? EDIT: This way we could strip the whole gimbal from the housing in order to have it built into our simpits. That would be the most elegant solution.

Cyph3r Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 Thanks. Sure. Take your time. EDIT: btw, Any news on AMAZON listings? I have some friends that want to pull the trigger. They're getting toggled on and off each day as we collect (very) small numbers of orders. This is so that we can go through the entire process with the EU/Amazon platform and ensure there are no issues. Also due to the demand we're experiencing with orders just from http://www.virpil.by, we need to be realistic with any extra demand we can handle at this precise moment in time! ► Website: www.virpil.com // ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/VirPilControls // ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/VirPilControls For support please email support@virpil.com to open a ticket! Cyph3r Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 (edited) Toggled on and off? Strange behaviour. How so? We just can't accept a huge number of orders right now and as it's a new platform, we need to go through the entire process with a manageable amount of orders. It will be naturally scaled up over the coming days and I'll post an announcement when it's running full time. Edited September 29, 2017 by Cyph3r ► Website: www.virpil.com // ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/VirPilControls // ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/VirPilControls For support please email support@virpil.com to open a ticket!
