trigen
First my system. I7 950 3.8ghz 6gb ram 270x 4gb windows 10 Ive been messing around trying to clear my stutters as of late and while and while low preset yielded horrible fps setting medium and then playing around and setting the textures to low and view range to low/medium gives me very smooth 30fps locked at 5760 3 screen. I got the 270X top with 4gb ram that im not even close to filling however, i can max it out at around 3.2 Is it the bandwidth that's the problem here or is it the lack of ram? If i set it to medium or high i will still get the same fps but with constant microstutter. I plan to invest in either a vid card now or cpu ram mb, cant really afford both so which route does one go. 1080 ti, i7700k 5ghz, 16gb 3600 cl14 ddr4 oc

Your GPU should be OK with 4gig memory. SSD is also a big help in getting rid of stutters. Edited January 7, 2017 by cthulhu68
trigen
Forgot to mention it's on ssd. It's clearly a load problem. Would think the cockpit textures goes into the vram. So maybe the card just can't feed 3 screen fast enough but not sure. Or is it due to system ram 1080 ti, i7700k 5ghz, 16gb 3600 cl14 ddr4 oc
cthulhu68
I totally overlooked that you have 3 monitor set-up. Both RAM and GPU need upgrades. 2-4 gig VRAM is good for 1 monitor but I think 6-8 gig is what you need for 3 monitors.

If it were me, I would go ahead with the cpu-ram-mb option first if you can. Then add a newer GPU with more ram when possible. Art-J
A 4K tv (3840x2160) need less than 4GB of VRAM: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=144333 Note the linked thread is from 1.2.x era. Things changed after switching to new engine. DCS is very VRAM hungry nowadays (Nevada especially, I would expect future updated Caucasus to be the same) and there's no way 4GB is enough for 4K or triple screens. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10. Konovalov
As above look to new GPU 1060 with 6gb min. Then if still not happy perhaps look to do total overhaul from that old i7-950. I have similar old system however I increased RAM from 6 to 12GB which helped a little. Also overclocked up to 4.25ghz to reduce as much as possible bottleneck to new GTX1070 GPU. However now I'm at the point where I am going to gut system and replace with either Kaby or Ryzen based rig. Old Asus X58 motherboard is starting to exhibit some flaky behaviour now. trigen
I'll test the 1080 for about 35 days I think and hopefully hear a proper release date and specs for Amd by then. They have a open buy policy for 45 so it's not a big crime to test it, same with the Vive, doubt I'll return that though! Gonna have them change the ram too 3200 before the parcel actually leaves them or ill just go crazy thinking about it now. While it clocks great the performance won't beat a true 3200 and I guess 2_5fps could mean the difference of 45 or 90 locked in Vr Trying to shop for VR on a manic craze like Carrie in Homeland is i hassle i tell ya, im actually worse than her. No sleep and changing your mind every 5 seconds, rift, vive, rift, vive. Bloddy hell. Lets hope the end result is awesome Edited January 11, 2017 by trigen 1080 ti, i7700k 5ghz, 16gb 3600 cl14 ddr4 oc
