33rd_bratpfanne. Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Hi walmis ! Great Work ! I only have one point to remark: the original Model was criticised among other things for the canopy frame being "not really round". I dont know if u looked into that detail yet but in my eyes it could be even "rounder" and that wont be too many polys !? Just a minor thing, not worth changing if its big trouble, its much better than the Original right now. S! Brati "Helicopters can't fly; they're just so ugly the earth repels them." 33rd_bratpfanne. Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 ah by the way, u seem to know many things about arguments, is it possible to make the navlights flashing by default? S! Brati "Helicopters can't fly; they're just so ugly the earth repels them." (THX Rich  )
walmis Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 nope, this particular arg is either on or off. And yeah, canopy frame is no problem 1
some1 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Awesome work Walmis! The only thing I don't like in this model is that it isn't Su-33. But well, we can't have everything. Regarding afterburner effect. Do you plan to make new flame as well? The current one is far from being a circle: It's the file forsag.cmd Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro
Crowbar Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 WOW! Very nice model! I noticed just one thing, there's no AN/ALQ-135B antenna on the nose. Here's a pic: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1124822/L/ It's right over the nose cone and in front of the canopy  Cheers
Pilotasso Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Succesfully added a skin, so that means we can have unlimited number, or maybe limited to the height of the screen ;), hope ed implemented scrollbars :megalol: Well, i think it should, theoretically you can have unlimited skins, just i need to figure out how meinit handles skins. Btw, you can make a list of skins that you would like, and download links to them, so i could put them in the pack with cdds compression for better performance. Heres the list of Skins: http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=70&min=40&orderby=titleA&show=20#cat You need the login into lockon files first before clicking on this link. if you cant use this direct link successfuly then browse the F-15 skins section, on page3 the skins are the following: F-15J Agressor #1 F-15J Agressor #2 F-15J JASDF 2048x F-15J JASDF 306th TFS 2048x F-15J JASDF v2 F-15J Shiro Ruyu Skin Im wondering wich skin will online players see in the place of these. If its possible to specify that make it the Kadena US cammo. It makes better sense, because Kadena is in Japan. :) .
walmis Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 Heres the list of Skins: http://www.overclockercafe.com/Reviews/cooling/Tt_SilentTower/pics/1003.jpg Cpu cooler skin? :megalol:
Pilotasso Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 OOOOOOOOOOOOPS LOL! Corrected link, I was postin on another thread at the same time. .
walmis Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 hmm, these are with japanese markings, dont you think it's kinda strange to have japanese markerd f-15s in USA skin selection ? ;)
Pilotasso Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 If you dont add them, could you at least tell me how to? :) Because they are too pretty to be left out but wouldnt be too good to overwrite the stock ones either. One could want to use other higher res US cammos without having to overrite these Japanese cammos. .
Pilotasso Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Just out of curiosity, wich skin will be veisible for every other player who hasnt added skins? .
ALDEGA Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 The front landing gear doesn't appear to be "correct": screenshot (WIP) picture The "quarter-circle-supporting-the-landing-gear-tyre-thingy" should be on the other side (left instead of right).
TekaTeka Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Thanks for the answers, Walmis. 1. They are in the argument "strobe lights". Yes. But the argument 83 in not used in the sim. I'd like to include them in the argument 49 "Navigation lights". 2. Unwrapping to a new skin format will take lots of time. The current one pretty good. The only thing that is symetrical is the side of the intake, and some little parts. Well, the little parts make problems sometimes. Anyway it's up to you. I can live with the current one.:) TekaTeka from Japan [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Visit my site Beyond Visual Range.
GGTharos Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Walmis, can you make a version with the yellow anti-collision lights to be 'always on'? They get turned off at the most annoying moments. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
walmis Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 Walmis, can you make a version with the yellow anti-collision lights to be 'always on'? They get turned off at the most annoying moments. yeah, but how they "get" turned off?
GGTharos Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 They're on at night (I think) when you are in navigation mode. If you switch to any A2A mode they turn off. This should not be happening. SuperKungFu Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Awesome work Walmis! The only thing I don't like in this model is that it isn't Su-33. But well, we can't have everything. Regarding afterburner effect. Do you plan to make new flame as well? The current one is far from being a circle: It's the file forsag.cmd I agree. I asked this before but they didn't think it was possible. Couldn't it be like falcon 4.0 with those addons such as FF3, OF..etc where they made the afterburner animated? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
some1 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Well, it's impossible to make a really new afterburner with all eye-candy effects like fire, smoke etc without changing the game code (which was possible in the case of Falcon). From what Strikemax wrote about his Su-27 I it's also impossible to make animation smoother by adding more frames. What I'm asking for is to simply replace the model above with a nicer one, less angular, more like a cone. Or something totally different if someone has idea what it could be. :smilewink: Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro

Maybe just making it a little smoother and rounder like the feathers it would be good.
MAFIA Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Walmis, what modification of F-15C? In game now we have F-15C upgraded to standart MSIP. I think you have some mistakes in antennas under nose. Walmis! Everybody asked you to make F-15E - don't do it. It isn't just new cockpit glass, conform fuel tanks, lantirn pads. Big problem is that nose on modofication E a bit rotated to ground to have better scanning. So better do F-15A and F-15D. It will be very good if you make conform fuel tanks.
ViperEagle Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I'm new here, but I want to thank you for your work. I'm syre the model will look great once it's finished, it already looks great. Question: In what detail are the engine nozzles rendered/created? because the actual P&W F100's have very intricate actuator rods and detailing. Is thise nozzle closer to that, or closer to the baseline F-15 from LO/FC? A shame we cant edit the actual preformance properties to give us the Updated MSIP-II aircraft with the uprated P&W F100-P220's, the AN/APG-63 (V)1 or V2 radar, or even the V3 radars that about 178 active duty Eagles are going to be getting. Trust me, a F-15C MSIP-II P&W F100-P220/Aim-9X/Aim-120C-5(orD)/JHMCS/ AN/APG-63V1(or2) would be an absolute beastly killer in the game. Like Comparing a F-16A to a F-16C Blk.52

Like Comparing a F-16A to a F-16C Blk.52 In reality F-16A MLU (Aim-9X/Aim-120C) is the same level as a F-16C Blk.52. Performance of the F100 (used in the Belgium F-16A/B) is today comparable with the F110-132 engine being developed by General Electric, which produces 145kN of thrust or 32000 pounds of thrust.;) DELL Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 940 2,93 GHz @3 GHz, 8 MB cache | 8.192 MB 1.067 MHz Tri Channel DDR3 | 512 MB ATI® Radeon™ 4850 | 500 GB 7200 rpm Serial ATA | Samsung SM 2693 HM 25.5 " | HOTAS Cougar Thrustmaster |

Is thise nozzle closer to that, or closer to the baseline F-15 from LO/FC? I agree about the nozzles, the first screenshots of the model showed turkey feathers which are not installed on any American Eagles. Not sure if walmis has fixed this since then, I didn't read the whole thread ;) A shame we cant edit the actual preformance properties to give us the Updated MSIP-II aircraft with the uprated P&W F100-P220's... The F100-PW220 was NOT uprated compared to the -PW100, infact it is slightly downrated (negligibly so). It was introduced to offer better care-free handling characteristics among other improvements. Since LOMAC does not model things like compressor stalls and flame-outs you would gain absolutely nothing by having -PW220s modelled.

Like Comparing a F-16A to a F-16C Blk.52 We don't need this ... we really do -not- need this ... it might come in the future, but right now, things are fine where they are. And no, it isn't a bad thing that w can't edit radar properties etc etc. It is actually a very -good- thing ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
