BiggestPig Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 There's no option for that in AVG I think... But maybe I just turn it off while updating. Will check if updater works then again. EscCtrl Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Heh i think AVG is so good it forgot to make an off switch - any idea how to keep it quiet? thanks again
SuperKungFu Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 well i assume in the future when this model moves out of the public beta testing phase then there would be no updater anymore. But it's going to be a while until the final F-15 model is ready. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EscCtrl Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Sorted it now Just clicked clicked the properties of the windows explorer component on the main menu of AVG and press deactivate then sorted out the updater and all is well :) thanks for the help though p.s. remember to reactivate after though!
Vekkinho Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 You guys suggest something like Su-25T canopy, aren't you?! Well, I have a small problem with canopy and other glass parts with SuperFrog. It appears too glossy, especially during night sorties. This might be X800 or Catalyst/driver related issue but all glass parts turn white during the night. I'm not home right now and this computer has no LOFC installed so I can't make no scshots of it but I'll post them tomorrow for You to compare and advise... THX! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SuperKungFu Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 yea the answer is in this thread somewhere, but just to be sure we are talking about the same thing, do you mean the fuel tank is sitting way behind where it should be? Doesn't that mean your missiles and such would also be not in the right position? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PythonOne Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 @walmis just curious to find out when the next update is due out. :D
EscCtrl Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Hmm after screwing up my MEINIT file I finally got the missing textures sorted and now have the model - I now have a new problem though - Everytime I press update it find the two latest updates (including the new gatling gun and nose edit) then it offers to download them so i click yes and the window closes without anything downloaded any help? thanks
markriley Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 AVG answer Not sure if this holds true for the free version of the software or not but this is what i did to keep AVG running and still update the F-15 Open AVG to main window (Status) and click Show quarantine at bottom. then click on exceptions tab and use the browse button to trace the path to Updater .exe and the other Walmis F-15 stuff it has found. Once you tell AVG the path, then it will let Updater work without having to shut down AVG each time. fretwear Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Man I've been having problems getting this thing installed. Majesco Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I mean i'd prefer a clear canopy over the blue one:) This image pretty much explains why i'd prefer clear instead of the blue: (Image by Dogs_body) How do you feel about the F-15's blue canopy ?
SuperKungFu Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 yea the white one seems "realistic" so i would lean towards that. But i just wish it wasn't so glossy. Looks like someone put oil all over the glass. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Geier Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 How do you feel about the F-15's blue canopy ? Clear canopy is more realistic then blue one. But its look like a mirror:) . It should be more clear, I think...

markriley Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 oh well, it was worth a shot on the AVG. And I like both canopies but lean toward the clear. and as others say, a little less glossy. Just dont want it to end up invisible though. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] system specs: AMD 1100T X6, Asus Crosshair 4 Formula Mobo, 16 Gigs GSkill DDR3, XFX R9-290X 4GB 512-Bit, X-52 flight stick set, Samsung 2560x1440, Win7 64

Turns out it was because i was updating using the wrong updater.exe - i had another from a seperate zip i assumed to be the same - turns out its not thanks for trying though! you can have some rep :D
Majesco Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Walmis, which is the right effect of your model's canopy ? In game, without Alt-Tab out: And Alt-Tab out, then back to the game, lost all effects: Easy to see at night time, all images at the second line:
walmis Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 that's lockon engine's renderer problem, not the model. Nothing i can do.
Trident Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Yes, avoid ALT-Tab as best you can when playing LOMAC. This is but one of the graphical artifacts it causes - it screws up other models and textures (including the default ones) just as badly.
Vekkinho Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 that's lockon engine's renderer problem, not the model. Nothing i can do. Yup, same thing happens with Su-25T but only with Su-25T. All other planes seem fine during the night. That's what I mentioned before. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PythonOne Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 will there be any more update to improve the overall shape of the front. That picture posted here earlier indicated the front should be sleeker.
EscCtrl Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 will there be any more update to improve the overall shape of the front. That picture posted here earlier indicated the front should be sleeker. He already made a major update to sort that issue after much complaint - give him a chance to modify elsewhere and try and specify 'how' you think it should be sleeker - could just be the viewing angle and picture.
PythonOne Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 i was referring to the pic Dogs_body posted, it looks like the nose is "thicker" than the real F-15 and the canopy's front should be lowers to blend smoothly with the nose. If i was walmis, i would view the original F-15 model ED created because they got the overall shape right, it just not detailed. And use that as an outline to correct the shape of his model.
