Can i do this.... can i make a website for school with some screen shots of lock on ?????? or is there some copy right law on that. i would site the game and everything but my teacher is bugging me about it :P

LOL thanks guys. well the website is actually telling the viewer how and airplane works and gets lift and all that and for the banner and cool things around the page i have screenies from Lock on :P

In my work I go throu this problem everyday, there is copyright, also for a simple skin. Ask a licence of use to ED, they probably sign it for free.

Zag is correct. All rights to images and usages of those images should be detailed in the EULA (End User Licence Agreement) that you agree to before you can install the game (that none of us bothers to read).

 

I would suggest you email ED to cover your back and make sure you have permission to run this website.

 

You should not have any problem if the two main general criterias are met.

 

1.That you do not receive monetary gain from the website by exploitation of the intellectual property (to which ED may have a right to some of the profits).

 

2. You do not discredit the intellectual propperty.

 

Provided you adhere to those simple rules, i think you will find that you will most likely be given permission. As this only promotes the propperty and can increase public awareness and sales and will be of benefit to ED.

You don't have to email ED, just make sure you use the copyright for the every image posted. Something like this:

Write to ED. They'll tell you what they want and even if for free you'll need a licence of use for the specific purpose and date period.

I replied to a question, but you can do what you want. As photograhper I work with © everyday, that's why I'm pretty sure about what I'm saying. Just think that I have to sign a model release (for the customer) to myself when I sell my self portrait. Nothing more to say. over and out.

All the screenshots makers and movie makers are doing ED a HUGE favor by promoting the game around for FREE. I'm sure there are copyrights issues involved, but they are so minor with the stuff we do that they don't care. In fact, i'm sure they're quite happy :)
