Jamesp1 Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 The Spitfire's gunsight goes all wibbly when I have ASW enabled. I understand this is because the propellor causes a light-dark-light flicker behind it and confuses the ASW. Unfortunately I think I'm also getting pretty low fps in this module (using pixel density of 1.0 and 'VR' graphics settings) so I'd really like to have ASW on. Does anyone have any suggestions besides just turning all graphics settings to min, or can a dev say if this a known issue to be looked into or will be left as-is?
Bearfoot Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 ... or can a dev say if this a known issue to be looked into or will be left as-is? +1. An indication from devs whether or not this will be looked into, even at an indeterminate time in the future, or not, would be psychologically very helpful!
the_soupdragon Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Yep I hate the wibbly wobbly gunsight in the Spitfire as well. It makes my eyes go funny after a while. Any news on whether this is going to be fixed would indeed be welcome. SD [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
some1 Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Probably not without tweaking the texture of the spinning prop (don't know if it's possible). Bounder Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) Probably not without tweaking the texture of the spinning prop (don't know if it's possible). There's a Spitfire prop mod available for DCS 1.5, not used it myself. Could work in 2.1 as well. Don't know if it will help with the problem the OP is describing with the gunsight but should help with FPS https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2306815/ Edited June 21, 2017 by Bounder My PC specs: Win10 64 Pro, CPU i7-3820 4.4GHz, 16GB RAM, GPU Nvidia 1070 (8gb vram). dburne Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Disable ASW, no more squiggly gun-sight. I have actually found I like it better with ASW disabled. I use the Oculus Tray Tool and set a profile for DCS.exe to disable ASW for it.
