My wish is an easier way to have dynamic weather in mission editor. Maybe have something like BMS 4.33 has?

It's a pain messing around with files so not know what the weather will look like for sure!

Well, if you want to know what the weather looks like, why use "dynamic" as in "more realistic weather" at all?

You can forecast the expected weather reading the isobars, pressure difference and spin.

What we miss, is a placement option.

I would be happy to have the capability to place the center of a cyclone/anti-cyclone... And maybe have a timeline to create 2-4 pressure changes over a time period of, let's say 48hrs.

Then a server could repeat this scheme forever, rather than only equalize the existing pressure systems.

Thanks for your reply!

How do I go about setting it up then as I can't find any tutorials anywhere!

I want an idea of what the weathers doing as I don't waby a thuderstorm on a predicted sunny day. Real pilots don't go out not having an idea of the weat her forecast.

Let's be real, Shagrat. The gui for the dynamic weather could be way more decriptive. That is why real pilots use things like SWC:s so they can see the big picture at a glance. It doesn't have to show the exact position of each cloud, but a general idea weither or not you should expect a autumn storm or a sunny calm breeze.

No disrespect intended.

Yep, that's what I meant. In general even the option to define the origin of the cyclone/anti-cyclone and add a couple pressure changes would be nice.

The meteorological symbols are standard, though more descriptive list or even better mouse over with windspeed ranges near symbols and descriptive forecast (like METAR) would be much appreciated in the Mission Editor.

The info is there, in the briefing, so it could be shown in the ME, while "creating" a weather system, to have a better idea about the results.

It can't describe a perfect forecast, of course, as it is a dynamic system that changes differently everytime, even if the starting point is quite similar.

That fould be feasible. And such mouse-over features shouldn't be difficult to implement from a technical standpoint. I wonder if it were possible to have the briefing weather update itself periodically during dynamic weather... that is, so long as we can't have an in-game ATIS working.

Maybe we get something along these lines with the ATC enhancements, that is on the roadmap already.

Major milestone for a lot of things seems to be the 2.5 merge.

Indeed. And it seems that the Merge requires a lot more work to complete than us customers or even ED ever anticipated.

I'd love a way of forecasting, similar to what we get in Arma 3 (the ability to set initial weather conditions and final weather conditions with a set time interval between them) - it would be even better if we could add stages as desired for enhanced dynamic weather so we could have initial weather and then set transitional stages as the mission progresses with time.

It would also be great if we could set areas for different weather conditions, maybe using the grid system we currently have (though that might be a bit too excessive in some regions).

The dynamic weather can already do some of it, yet it is horribly complicated.

We can set multiple cyclone/anti-cyclone (spinning wind regions) and give them pressure differences.

What I really, really miss, is a way to position the center of the cyclones on the map AND to give at least two pressure settings, one at start and one at the end for each system, with an option to transition between the two settings in a set time (1-24hrs) and maybe have this as an endless loop for online MP missions. :D
