Scooternutz Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Just want to see if we could get a performance brief on Normandy and VR. I am hoping it is as good as NTTR 2.0! [sIGPIC]https://drive.google.com/file/d/16rUBmmJR7A3YGZVGPGskxG1XtvulGojJ/view?usp=sharing[/sIGPIC]
Wolf8312 Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Yeah hopefully it will be even better and have been built purposefully to better utilize our GPU's and CPUS. Cant imagine it wont work well in VR as we VR users all know that VR is the future of flight sims. Without VR I wouldnt even play DCS any more and so I am going to wait for some VR Normandy reviews before jumping! I will shoot myself before I go back to Track IR! That was probably why IL-sturmovik devs reworked their entire engine and got the game to run on VR as they know almost ever flight simmer will after having tasted VR never want to fly any other way! Normandy does look worryingly good VR wise though but I'm optimistic. I'm not sure about this but wouldnt prop planes only, also dramatically improve performance on account of the flight models being more simplistic systems wise? ------------ 3080Ti, i5- 13600k 32GB VIVE index, VKB peddals, HOTAS VPC MONGOOSE, WARTHOG throttle, BKicker,

Jabbers_ Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Some more content I made, you can see the performance, and in the "Impressions" video I talked about it breifly Twitch2DCS - Bring twitch chat into DCS. dburne Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 I have not had a chance to spend a lot of time in it yet and do any tweaking , but it certainly looks pretty good in VR. Lensman Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Had an hour or two flying around. It looks fabulous in VR, the lighting is gorgeous. I would say performance wise it was similar to flying low over Vegas for me..a smooth 45 fps on medium settings. Had to turn the shadows down a bit for this. Still tweaking tho'.
