Yes, I choosen to keep the files obviously, as I have TONS of skins so I performed the clean also...

So it looks like I'm NOT the only one with this issue, but I still reading [uSER ISSUE] in the title :noexpression:

The title of the thread is not important here, but I will change it if it makes you happy. What matters is that as testers we can not reproduce the issue, until we can determine what is causing the issue we are stuck.

Can I ask you to remove all user modifications, run a cleanup and repair, and then repeat the problem and attach your fresh logs.

Also do you use any graphics programmes on your machine? Could something be interfering with your install?

I will do my best to help you

The only reason for insisting in the title is what I already said saveral times: others may have the issue and overlook the thread, just that.

You could try flying a new mission (starting the ME already in Normandy) and setting a mig-29 to take-off from Maupertus in May at 14h...it seems to have more chances to break when I make many changes and start on the ground, although not necessarily.

The only mod I have is one for the F-5 input (WH Throttle) which I already removed several times to check with no success. Also made several repairs.

About software, I only use MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner for limiting FPS to 60, but no overlay of any kind.

Also, I made a clean up, but maintaining my skins of course so I will try disabling Riva tunner limiter but other than that don't know what else to do...

thanks for your help!

EDIT: forgot to mention I also use AF, vsync and triple buffer from NV control panel.

strange, not seeing this myself

just to check, you have

Removed all user modifications if any.

Check

done a cleanup and repair,

Check and check.

and tried a fresh saved games dcs folder?

Check. And as I said above, I've uninstalled both the NTTR and Normandy modules and reinstalled them. Things didn't start out this way, just happened out of the blue two days ago and has stayed this way ever since.

I have had another try this morning, on public and internal builds, and I am unable to reproduce.

I thought it might be an issue with switching terrains often as we have seen that in earlier builds, but not this time sorry, all seems ok for me

Very weird. I did all of the above steps again and now the terrain is back to normal! Not sure which step did it as I only tested at the very end not really expecting anything different this time around... Hopefully it won't pop up again!!

EDIT: Spoke too soon, flew my test mission and it was back... Was gone the first time I flew it but now it's back. :(

Would love to know what is causing this for me. Now NTTR is looking like crap, even the cockpit textures...

Well, for the heck of it I went into the nVidia control panel and selected DCS under the manage 3D settings. Clicked on restore to have it revert back to preload settings and it was back!!! I then changed Anisotropic filtering from 8x to 4X and the textures were all messed up again. Changed it back to 8x and no difference... clicked on restore again (only made it go from 8x to global setting 8x) and was still messed up... Thought I had figured it out, even though I hadn't changed any settings prior to this happening...

EDIT: I go back into the game and start up the same mission and now the textures are back to normal! I really don't get this...

yes mate, I have also made many conbinations of things to try to understand whats going on, but no luck for now... also disabled reshade but nope... sometimes it works fine others it doesnt, whats more, I think it NEVER works fine because as I said in previous post trees are not looking correctly when the ground textures are working correctly and when terrain textures work fine trees are not so... very, very weird....

After things were working well again I thought that was the end of it. Nope. I had played another game (GC3) and then had dinner and then fired up DCS again. Textures were all messed up once again... Now I'm not thinking it's DCS but nVidia. We both have their cards... So I downgraded my driver from 382.33s and 382.53s to 376.33s. textures were back! We'll see if they stay that way...

I remember having this issue also with the previous drivers, and after updating them the problem was there also but didnt tried older ones so maybe thats the problem although many people here have nvida cards so I think many people would have reported the issue...anyway, please, report your findigs

thanks a lot!!:)

Yeah, I know many have nvidia cards, but I'm at the end of my rope trying to figure this one out and am trying anything. Just booted up and tried the test mission out and the textures are messed up again... so much for that brilliant idea! lol Here's hoping the update fixes it for us few...

Yeah, I saw that. Better to wait and have less bugs and therefore things for me to bitch about. ;)

Seeing the older drivers weren't working I reinstalled the latest ones and the terrain is back the last 3x I checked! This is weird...

EDIT: The real kicker to all this is that after all this effort trying to resolve this texture issue, and it seems to be back to normal again for now..., is that all the things I"ve done have broken all the missions I've made and downloaded for Normandy... Hours of time wasted...At least NTTR is still good and I"ve staying with that for now as the frustration level is just too high ATM...

I've tried Spring, Summer and Fall. I figured out it was my video setting for my graphics card that was conflicting with the game's settings. Once I made nvidia go back to its' average settings for DCS, things started to work again, though the graphical texture issue is back...

it can happen in any season, although it happens much less in summer. I mean, if the first season you load after starting DCS is summer, then it might work fine and once it loads and works fine it will work fine in any other season. If you start the game and load a different season from summer chances of getting the bug are higher.

Btw, I havent had the issue since a few days.. have no idea why but just updated to latest nvidia drivers (which is weird because Justificus seems to have the issue even more with this drivers)...

Yeah, I've even gone as far as downloading the Alpha and all modules again to see if that by some odd chance may fix it. After several hours and 50+gb of downloading no change... can't seem to get rid of it now for some reason.

... If I enter in DCS and then directly load a different season from summer, bang! problem is there...

Hmmm, I've not seen that. For the heck of it. I tried deleting my Saved Games folder (previously, I only moved it to another location and then made a new one) and made a new one. Problem gone! Copied back the old folders but didn't overwrite anything, still good! bad news is that my FPS were much worse than before. I then used the old option.lua file and the FPS are back and problem is still gone! Not sure how long it will last but this is the longest it has lasted since it initially "broke" on me a few days ago... fingers crossed

Not sure I undertand you mate, sorry...you said you "deleted" the folder, but then you say that you "copied it back"??how if it was deleted??...also, whats the difference between deleting it or moving/renaming it and creating a new one??...I already tried renaming mine and creating a new one with no success but maybe what you made works...

Your Saved Games folder might have a corrupt file in it but also contains a lot of things that are hard to replace. This is why you want to create a backup, delete the original one, start DCS to create a new one, and then copy and paste only your Config folder for control layouts , Missions ( downloaded ones), and weapon load outs back into your new Saved Games folder. Sometimes Options LUA is a problem so it's best to not copy that back in.

I deleted it to the Windows Recycling Bin, then restored it. When I restored it, I didn't overwrite any files but kept both copies. that's when I renamed the Options.lua file (newly created one) and restored the old one. I can switch back and forth if need be but things have been fine since doing this. Obviously something got corrupt during one of my crashes...
