So usually honestly I don't complain, part of the game etc etc...

But I'm getting out from a mission on Normandy.

15 m/sec wind.

If I get below 120 km/h with my kamov, a Humvee with its Cal-50 will shoot me from 1200 m on each shot, while I'm moving 90° from him, and diving.

Could someone explain me how do you manage such thing with this ???

THERE isn't even a scope on this thing !

And don't tell me that it's hard to modify, everything is in one file, there are 5 lines per class of unit ! I don't ask shilkas to aim badly, I simply ask for standard private using a machine gun to do not take the job of a sniper !

Ok so finally found something which is quite much very funny. You fixed it on the stable version. Quite strangely not on the alpha, so if you copy paste the stable version it's like the Caucasus and AI won't be a sniper anymore.

Please  I can do it for you if you want  And I know that I'm talking alone on this thread for the last 3 hours now

It's the "sensors.lua" file in scripts/database/scripts

Please

If it's really as simple as to transfer a file from one version to an other... so I have to agree with my comrads, fix it please !

Are you talking about the v2.0 alpha and comparing it to the stable v1.5? & if so, could you please share the v1.5 stable file with us?

The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

I get you the file tonight.

For the BMP I can make a mod, as long as in DCS it has an accuracy of 70cm*70cm from 1000 m.

The fix was implemented quite some time ago - in each of the three branches. Only with the latest update (2.1) they adjusted the values further. You might disagree if that was for the better, but don't be surprised if the new values also appear as well in the Stable and OB with the next patch.

The new values (current 2.1 stock values) consider that an AK rebel soldier is able to aim with his ak-47 in a circle of 5 m of radius from 1000m, estimating the speed and the range of my helicopter with a +-10% accuracy from 1 km. Wind isn't even an error parameter, so he will shoot as well in a storm as in space vacuum. If he runs in a field at 5 m/sec (15 km/h, nice pace), he'll loose 25% of accuracy . . . If he runs on a road, he will only loose 8%... Logical logic is very logical. And by the way, these error values will of course diminish if I go closer than 1 km.

So unless you're yourself able to determine the speed of a Kamov-50 and its range with such an accuracy from 1km (which should induce that you've got some kind of futuristic what-the-****ish optical sight right in your eye and that you know the exact size of my helicopter), and shoot in a radius of 5 meters without being affected by wind in your prediction, or by the fact that you are shooting your AK in full auto mode, while running at 5m/sec, clearly, yes I totally disagree, it's simply ridiculous, the best way to break the game again, and I'd like some explanation about how it was "for the better" . That's very cool to model beautiful planes and helicopters, but without realistic challenge in front of you, it's better to fly FSX. Shooting Vikhr in stationnary from 8 km IS BORING.

I'm supposed to pilot a flying tank, I can't even try to kill a Hummvee with rockts from 1.5 km attacking in his back without risking to loose hydraulics, Abris, and my Shkval. From 1200 at 90° at 150k km/h and against 5 hummvees in medium "dumbass" difficulty, I loose my engines in approximatively 10 seconds ! I never ever tried in excellent because I suppose that we would need ****ing Tomahawks ! But I guess that I still need training, after all 2500 h on BS isn't enough to shoot a Hummvee...

Because I was talking about this Ak-47 guy, figure that the Hummvee machine gunner is TWICE more accurate. But the difference between this dude in his hummvee and the dude standing near it on his feet ? None.

I agree . A work on AI skills must be done. DCS would be even more pleasant.

In general, snipers equipped with one-shot precision rifle shoot at 750 meters (7.62mm). They use a scope, are lying down and shoot a target moving at low speed or still.

Units that do not have electronic sighting devices should not be as accurate as they are currently.

For 3 years I take a lot of fun using DCS. But some things, in my opinion, need to be improved. We have great modules, but the core of the game itself needs some modifications. The competence of the AI in the first place, their precision, but also their ability to break the fight, fall back or take back (without scripting it in the mission editor). I know that DCS is not a simple first person shooter, and there are a lot of parameters to consider. But it would be really great to have an AI a little more realistic.

I'm just trying to be constructive.;)
