K4nnix Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 I really love flying in DCS world, its the best sim out there, by far ! But what i really am missing is some immersion for the player, flying the planes feels so sterile.. - Aircraft are flying too much "on rails", we need something like ezdok camera.. I know that there is/was a camerajitter built into the game but that wasnt really what i mean - How about some fogged glass in different altitude/weather or even better !! raindrops when flying in rain or clouds.. Even tho it might be somewhat unrealistic compared to reallife flying, we are still stitting infront of a 2D screen, and immersion is what makes a game fun..

The only way to fly in DCS. :P Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above. You didnt try rift, that is the real feel, if you whant the real feel and immersion get a vr... if you like real nice grafic play on 2d screen.. i stopt playing dcs on screen when i got my vr, :) i love it to mutch :) Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-J510FN met Tapatalk
NeilWillis Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Indeed, VR is the way to go for immersion. Agree with you regarding fogging of canopies, but I am definitely not in favour of jittery cameras. However, check out the Mi-8 or MiG-21Bis if you want to feel the effects of vibration on your viewpoint. The MiG-21Bis, as already stated, is certainly not what you'd describe as on rails. Bottom line though, for realism and immersion, you cannot beat VR, especially in the Rift.
shagrat Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 I don't think any of the AFM, PFM, EFM planes can be described as flying on rails. You may want to add wind and turbulence to your missions to have a more immersive and challenging flight. You can also check "G-forces affect head movement" in the settings and for external views/ Fly-bys there is a setting to have a floating or shaky camera, which is pretty ok. terminator363 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 We totally need raindrops on the canopy, I gotta agree with you on that one Happy Bug Hunting!
Alwandy Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 May god forgive me for this one, but something like this right? http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZDhBt__mAQA/Uj0XXiuxCiI/AAAAAAAAjro/KCemhgkkGlA/s1600/Battlefield_3_(PC)_19.jpg
Czar66 Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) @Alwandy *shivers* edit: that's not really the finest look out there on realistic canopy. If something like this is implemented, may as well one glue his face to the radar screen and be instrument dependent. DCS: IFR lol Something like gpu dependent water dynamic water drops on the glass would be ED way to go in the future with the current methods of processing and post processing they are currently pushing out. Battlefield 3 is almost a dinosaur when it comes to texture/post processing relationship if you think about it. Edited June 21, 2017 by Czar66
MikeMikeJuliet Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Raindrops on the canopy are on the list... Other than that, I thought most aircraft feel rather lively in the air. Many times the soundscape of the game matters in such issues. Same in shooters: a gun can handle really well, but you only really feel it's a powerful weapon if the sound is right... Wanna hear those rumbling sounds that happen when pulling g's or high alpha. MiG-21 is great for that reason. DCS Finland | SF squadron
zero Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 We definitely need EzDok camera effects in DCS. I use it in A2A T-6 Texan (P3D). This effects makes P3D a much better sim than DCS. Really a sandbox to build own effects. Vibration frequency based on speed. Bumps getting sharper during takeoff run. Small details as programming weight of your head. Feel the slight yaw move as you use pedals, and head between legs in a hard landing. Managed to convert EzDok from FSX to P3D. Someone willing to point a gun at EzDok staff and force them to make it work on DCS? Please? :D

WindyTX Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Please dont make the Canopy any worse a lot of them are so bad that you would never accept the Aircraft and would get the Ground crew to clean them. And some of the HUDs like the MIG 29's in NTTR right now are also crazy dirty IRL you never have to look around the HUD to see you target cos there is so much crap reflecting off the Hud glass.
