mj3437 Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 The reason I ask is that in 1.5.6 I am getting up to 200+ and never below 80 FPS. Vsync off in game. Adaptive Vsync on in Nvidia Control Panel. In 1.5.7 it seems to be capped at 60 (59.5 showing in Afterburner) as if Vsync were enabled in game. It is not. I rolled back to 1.5.6 and my FPS are back up. Same settings. Anyone else seeing this? Art-J Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 For me it still behaves as it was in 5.6 - the game starts in borderless windowed (above 60) and I have to switch to true full screen for the adaptive V-Sync to engage and go back to 60. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

mj3437 Posted July 15, 2017 Author Posted July 15, 2017 Art-J- I've never had to change to full screen from default and still got good FPS. After reading all the threads about it I changed back and forth several times and got better results with the default setting. BIGNEWY- 1.5.6 does not have an autoexec.cfg in it. MJ no you can create this yourself. you can edit it to limit the fps if you wish, I have always left mine high for testing purposes I have attached one below, place it in C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS\Config Edited July 15, 2017 by BIGNEWY Forum rules - DCS Crashing? mj3437 Posted July 15, 2017 Author Posted July 15, 2017 Why would it be needed in 1.5.6 if the FPS are not capped in that version? All I'm saying is something changed from 1.5.6 to 1.5.7 to cap FPS and I am wondering if it was intentional or a bug. msi Z170A MB, i7-6700k @ 4.0GHz, 32GB DDR4 GeForce GTX 970 4GB, Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB Acer Predator Z271, 650w PSU, Corsair Carbon500R, MS FFB 2

ED Team BIGNEWY Posted July 17, 2017 ED Team Posted July 17, 2017 Why would it be needed in 1.5.6 if the FPS are not capped in that version? All I'm saying is something changed from 1.5.6 to 1.5.7 to cap FPS and I am wondering if it was intentional or a bug. It is not needed, It is just a way of capping or unlocking the fps counter. Nothing has changed. Some users have noticed fps drops and lag spikes, which maybe having an effect. these have been reported to ED. What's the difference between the autoexec and the graphics.lau value? the autoexec allows you to adjust some settings and options without tampering with the core game files which is discouraged by ED. Any adjustment, tweak or mod should be done in the saved games DCS folder. Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
