Silver_Dragon Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 On the Mapple Flag A-10C QQT campaign, show them..... The A-10C Tactical Training Qualification campaign puts you in the cockpit of an A-10C Warthog, and tests your ability to interact with JTACs, Airborne FACs, AC-130 Gunships and manage Close Air Support (CAS) assets. Based on real world qualification requirements, you will fly 15 performance check rides to execute against pre-defined performance objectives. If successful, you will rate a Qualified rating and proceed to the next performance objective. I assume will have a "scripted" C-130, but has plans a "funtional" AC-130 into DCS: W? cichlidfan Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Not just AI, please. While an actual module might not be worth the effort, a CA enabled AI version would be awesome. The AI is already incredibly accurate so that part is already done. :) ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Vitormouraa Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 I think having AI would be a plus, and having the ability to manage the aircraft thru the CA would be interesting as chich said SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com
Kippy Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 (edited) Spooky 2 is one heavy I'm sure nobody here would be ashamed of flying. That thing is a CAS monster. I think it'd be a great fit to DCS, whether it be a combined arms deal or a full blown module. Though I'm sure many of us prefer the latter. :) Edited July 15, 2017 by Kippy 163rd vFS Discord Soaring With the Snakes, Fangs Out!
cichlidfan Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Flying it would actually be rather boring, like flying a KC-130. Go to appointed location and fly a racetrack pattern until new orders arrive. Kippy Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Boring to fly, perhaps.. but I think it'd be nice to sit in an orbit, looking down at the ground and observing what kind of work the crew in the back of the aircraft is doing. I'm sure there's enough going on during a CAS mission to keep the pilot interested. 163rd vFS Discord Soaring With the Snakes, Fangs Out!
Sabre-TLA Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Our hope is that the AC-130 DCS Module would have both pilot and gunner positions so you could switch back and forth as desired. Unfortunately that was beyond the scope of our abilities at present but we agree it would be an awesome addition to DCS World. Playing the gunner over DCS would be great fun! lobo Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 Yeah! C-130 gunship would be a day one purchase for me. Dont need to fly it... just need to have the COD4 AC130 Spectre ability in DCS.
