504MrWolf Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Well 8 days have passed and i'm back :) Just wanted to say a big thank you to all members of the community i have had the pleasure to meet and have contributed to my website. Myself and ALDEGA started the site by combining our Lockon sites together using his php based system, that was way back in 2004 and its kept steaming along. Unfortunatly times have changed and i can no longer keep the old site running, i dont have the time or energy to keep it going.:( Massive thanks to Eagle Dynamics in all shapes and sizes for helping me with leaks, information, pre-releases and overall open and friendliness to me and the Lockonskins team. Thank you Andrey, Igor, Daniel, Matt, Kate and all others who helped out. Lockon and its long troubled journey has been fantastic i thank you all from the bottom of my heart though the wife hates you all for making a game that widowed her ;). A very special thanks to all the talented Lockon skinners, movie-makers, modders, tweaks and all others without you my site wouldve been empty. I could name names all day but you all know who you are, you made this community something special. Thanks to all the Virtual Squadrons who enjoyed and made a go of Lockonskins doomed Crimean Airwars "Dynamic" Campaign it was great fun and very hard work while it lasted! Think i've covered all bases so just in case A BIG THANKS TO ALL IVE FORGOTTEN WHO HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE. So now i actually have some to time to fly Lockon instead of promoting it, so see you all in Hyperlobby!!:pilotfly: Roll on Tank Killers!:joystick: www.VVS504.co.uk www.lockonskins.co.uk
EscCtrl Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Heh 2004? I haven't been with Lockon that long but I remember the release of your website. Was definitely good whilst it was there and kept it bookmarked. Glad you haven't left the community for good anywho, and thanks for the site whilst it was around :)
GGTharos Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Thanks to all the Virtual Squadrons who enjoyed and made a go of Lockonskins doomed Crimean Airwars "Dynamic" Campaign it was great fun and very hard work while it lasted! What do you mean 'was', Wolfie? ... the job's not finished ... come find me on TS ... ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Laud Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 CAW was far the best ever available about online-combat-flying in LOMAC!! But as we organize some mixed (fighters/bombers) squad-matches sometimes I really can imagine the big load of work which comes along with such a project. Again big THX for having had (<- I hope thats right) the chance to participate in that scenario! GGTharos Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Your grammar is correct Laud :) Yes, the workload was enormous, and people got burned out. However there are quiet whisperings and rumours that, like Dr. Chaotica, death has no hold on CAW ... ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
504MrWolf Posted January 8, 2007 Author Posted January 8, 2007 mmmmmmmmmmm i can see the CAW website hibernating in a directory on my webserver....................CAW v2.0 Black Shark Hunting. www.VVS504.co.uk www.lockonskins.co.uk
GGTharos Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 It will be a while still ... a long while. There is much to do. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
suntrace1 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Hey Mr.Wolf, are you prepared to share your base of mods and skins with LockOnFiles, so that they won't be lost? It would be a great loss for the community...
Willy p. Rolim Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Thanks! Thank you, very much! You made my life better!"We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day! Keep smiling through, just like you always do, 'till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away! So, will you please say hello to the folks that I know? Tell them I won't be long! They'll be happy to know that as you saw me go, I was singin' this song: We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day! vistrel Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Man, why did you close your site ? So what it didn't get a lot of attention ? Many newbs (like myself) still could use it. Ive downloaded various files off your website. Hell, I own gaming site myself and it's not so active but I still keep it running, and have plenty of time to play games. Actually, I play a lot. And it's not expensive either. I pay $10 per month for shared hosting. Bad decision...bad decision. Warning: The following might cause stupidity http://youtube.com/watch?v=25LceCPO1ys
