BrainbloodNL Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Hello, I have come across this problem lately, maybe like a month ago. "SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not ok." === Log opened UTC 2017-10-24 18:19:13 INFO : DCS_Updater/2.6.16.58 (Windows NT 6.2.9200; Win64; nl-NL) INFO : cmdline: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe" --apply repair STATUS: Initializing... INFO : basedir: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World INFO : DCS/ (x86_64; EN; WORLD) INFO : branch: STATUS: Connecting to update servers... ERROR: Conection to server 'www.digitalcombatsimulator.com' failed: SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK ERROR: www.digitalcombatsimulator.com replied HTTP -1 ERROR: SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK === Log closed. It does that, but only when i try the update repair. When I use the updater, or launch the exe it just opens the "checking for updates" window and closes it immediately. I've tried launching it through the command prompt but to no surprise it didn't work. It is allowed through the firewall as well. I am using internet through my laptop though, don't ask me why, but on my laptop I checked also if I can download it and there it works fine, so maybe something goes wrong between my laptop and my pc. I am using windows 10 64 bit. Before I had to use my laptop for internet, it worked fine. I hope I've given enough information for you guys to help me, so I can :pilotfly::joystick: again :D Kind regards, Martijn
BrainbloodNL Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 Just in case anyone turns up with this problem, it turned out using me laptop for internet was not the problem. I bought a wireless card, convinced is was the laptop but I still had the same problems as before. Turns out there was some malware and adware on my computer so after removing them using Malwarebytes AdwCleaner, I was able to download DCS just fine. I'm not sure exactly which one caused it, but wincap and proxygate ads was one of them. Kind regards, Martijn
Dirty Rotten Flieger Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Thanks for the intel I have the same problem when I try to update DCS

Kerb Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Their certificate has expired: updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on Saturday, 16 December 2017, 10:59 AM. The current time is Saturday, 16 December 2017, 11:16 AM.
Alphazulu Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 okay, so how do you remove the old certificate.
Kerb Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 You wait for them to issue a new SSL certificate.

streakeagle Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 This really blows. The updater won't work without the certificate, so I can't install the Harrier. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Kerb Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Also, it is not Saturday the 16th. Maybe not in your comer of the world. The time is translated to local time, in my case GMT+11.
