Can't start Huey

So, I've tried several different guides online, followed the manual and all of that, but my Huey will NOT start. I have no idea why! Nothing happens when I click the starter ignition button on the throttle.. I tried DCS Stable version and Alpha version. Same error on both of them. Tried missions and I've tried self-generated missions.. It's all the same.. Cold dark will not work..

 

I've recorded a video that shows rougly what I am doing.. But why is nothing happening when I'm clicking the ignition?

What you should start doing now Keem85, is post these module specific questions in the right place. This will help you get the answer quickly most of the time, because the guy's that are big into the module or learning it also, will be in that section of the forum.

 

Plus you dont want to give the moderators more work to do, having to move forum post around.:)

 

The Huey is built by a Third Party team Belsimtek.

 

You can find the Huey section under "Licensed Third Party Projects" Section

 

Then go to "Belsimtek"

 

Then "DCS: UH-1H Huey"

 

Post your questions in that main Huey section, the Bug section is only for bugs or if you think there is a bug so others and ED can test it.

That button that you're pressing does not start the engine. You need to press the Home button on your keyboard or map it to a button on your HOTAS.

Thanks guys. Yeah sorry posted it the wrong place. I tried mapping the start engine button under cyclic option, but that failed too.. It's strange. Same as earlyer, no result

Good question. And no nothing happens when I press HOME button. But I have checked the config.. Under cyclic it says "start engine" and it's automatically assigned to HOME.. However, it doesn't react.. It's strange.

It's almost complete, though make sure to check the start-up procedure in the manual (pg 112-116).

 

EDIT: tried to see what could be missing but the quality of the video doesn't allow this. Is the starter gen switch on START? If it has been switched to standby gen, the starter switch (Home) won't do anything.

Throttle was rolled up then back before starting up?

I'm having this same issue. Following along with the tutorial instructions. Get to the "Press and hold home" part and nothing happens. Bound the command to my hotas, still nothing.

Makse sure you have the throttle opened to ~5-10%. If that's not the issue then a track file or video of your attempted startup would be helpful.

Check the Battery Voltage.

When I was learning the Huey I used to turn the lights, radios, fuel pump, etc while reading the checklist and my battery went low enough to a point when the Starter would not have power to spin the engine.

So I figured out what I'M doing wrong. It tells you to set the Starter Generator to Start and the battery to on. But in my need to touch switches I'm putting the generator on Standby, Not sure if that's what OP is doing but that fixed it for me. Moral of the story: Switches aren't toys. Even if they are.

Sounds about right
