SuperKungFu Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Pretty cool, i remember seeing on ebay they sold a MiG-29 for $3,500,000 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Stealth_HR Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 What about that J-35 Draken that was on sale for €600,000.00? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Real men fly ground attack :pilotfly: where EVERYTHING wants a piece of you :D
RvETito Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Pretty cool, i remember seeing on ebay they sold a MiG-29 for $3,500,000 Ex-moldovian? Does that mean thta this is one of the MiGs bought by the USAF in 1997? "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=
Force_Feedback Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Cool, now we can trace the money trail all the way to the NSA  I always wonder what kind of people buy such planes, and for what purpose, just to fly it, to maintain it, to make some kind of club with friends, so they can restore the jets... Wasn't there some criterea ex-military jets must meet (besides not having working weapon systems, and 'warfare related' equipment)? Heard something about clipping of structural members to reduce the maximum G-load on some F/A-18s, maybe this mig got 'clipped' as well? Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
SuperKungFu Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 probably the same reason why some people buy model airplanes, just to look at it. lol but these real planes is one hell of a model. :D Here's another ebay auction on an F/A-18A Navy Blue Angel Hornet, the price was $2,800,000.00. (i don't recall if it was sold or not or what was the final price) Wasn't the Buran Space Shuttle also sold on ebay? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kula66 Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 I'm sure I remember seeing an ex-Brazillian aircraft carrier on ebay ... not extactly the sort of thing you can put in your local river!
hitman Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MiG-21F-USSR-Military-Aircraft_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ26428QQihZ002QQitemZ120071699871QQrdZ1 I looked at this one and to me seems kind of fishy. Even "IF" I had the money to buy that thing I would refrain from it.
Force_Feedback Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 it's not airworthy, so all you can do with it is turn on the engine, see the lights come on, put a lawnchair in the cockpit, and act like a 6 year old Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
