I always wonder what kind of people buy such planes, and for what purpose, just to fly it, to maintain it, to make some kind of club with friends, so they can restore the jets...

Wasn't there some criterea ex-military jets must meet (besides not having working weapon systems, and 'warfare related' equipment)? Heard something about clipping of structural members to reduce the maximum G-load on some F/A-18s, maybe this mig got 'clipped' as well?

probably the same reason why some people buy model airplanes, just to look at it. lol but these real planes is one hell of a model. :D

 

Here's another ebay auction on an F/A-18A Navy Blue Angel Hornet, the price was $2,800,000.00. (i don't recall if it was sold or not or what was the final price)
