I have just set up a mission for two coop spits where they attack a series of German trains.

I can set the trains up and got them to be activated via zone triggers.

When the trains are activated they are not visible on the f10 map and there is no red dot label ( using them in vr). They can be attacked and do stop and burst into flames but do not trigger a unit min speed condition.

What is the functionality of the trains at the moment can they be designated as German ground targets which die etc like other ground targets.

Just want to check if I am doing something wrong or is it that this functionality has yet to be installed.

Thanks

Yeah still heavily WIP. Trains are a little weird because its basically virtual unit and it appears that most triggers and scripting functions simply don't work with them yet.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

How do trains work? Not like normal vehicles? I put one on a track with waypoints and added cars to the engine. But it's not visible in the game or map ingame. Only works with triggers??

I'd like to know the answer to this one too. I haven't been able to use trains yet.

They never appear in-game.

Have you tried LCTL + F12? There should be multiple trains running all over the map...

IIRC, you have to set the date to the 1940s to see the correct period equipment for WWII.

Are you sure about that? That sounds pretty odd to me, as you might want to use this equipment in post WW2 missions which would be impossible then.

I put it on the Nevada map! I doubt they would have put restrictions on when/where you could put a vehicle type object.

I read some old posts from last summer that indicated it needed to be triggered in script. I hope that's not the case. Of course like any other object triggering would be an option.

Hi,

Map : Nevada

Mission Date : 1st February 2018

Civ. Traffic : LOW

Cimney Smoke Density : 0

Don`t try CTRL + 12 - it will become a click-orgy wagon for wagon of the Civilian Trains

Place a other unit near the starting point of the WW2-train and watch with F7

I guess to be more accurate, year affects existing AI Trains.

Current Date: Modern Trains

1940s: WWII Trains

I'll also assume you can choose whichever you like with equipment you add.
