Art-J Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 It's a single engine jet, so it almost doesn't really need rudder at all in flight. Rudder input is needed during taxiing, though - nosewheel steering mechanism uses pedals, but twist stick should be enough for that function. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
QuiGon Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Art-J is right. Rudders are not really important for the Sabre, unlike for Helos or WW2 prop planes which can't really be flown without rudder pedals. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Sarraceno Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 You can go without pedals in planes, some hotas also has an small slider tu use if you don't have. If you can use keyboard to map it its okay... pedals are not mandatory unless you''re in a chopper, in choppers are a must
shonist Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 ty very much! i thought it would be like the ww2 prop planes (yeah, bought one of those and was a totally fail). going for it!! really appreciated. Lixma 06 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 I've used a twisty stick since forever - you'll be fine.
cthulhu68 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 I use the mini joystick on my CH throttle for rudder on helos and props.
