You are more limited with the CPU at the moment than GPU. But even 1050-1060 manages to pull nicely the VR if you happen to get a such setup and lucky combo that you get that 45-90 FPS that some 1080Ti setups can't even do.

 

I just recommend to wait that 2.5 gets out end of this month (or so) and then get people testing how it works.

here is my rough set up and I run DCS at mid graphics and I get steady 40 fps

 

window 7

an oolld fx6300 OC 4.2GHZ

16gb ram

gtx 1060 6gb

kingston ssd 400go

Yeah it works fine for me, happy with DCS in VR. You could always have more power but it's smooth enough.

I had a 1070 until very recently with my i5 2500@4ghz. It was fine.

However, mine died, and I was given the option to upgrade to a 1080 for £100 more. It was VERY well worth the extra £100 as there was more than a 30% improvement, IMO.

I had a Rift running on a i7 4970K and a GTX 1070 and it ran just fine
