Vista

I would never touch Vista right now. Lets see what it does to computers first, which I hear is not good. Wait for sp1 or sp2. There are a lot of nasty hidden features in there right now. I would also wait IMHO.

I would steer clear of Vista for the next several months. I have had many graphics problems with a variety of different sims. I have also tried many different drivers (both old and new) and could not resolve many problems.

There are some issues. Some programs/games will not run correctly or not at all and your system will probably not run as smooth as with XP, especially if your computer is a bit dated. Some people do report better FPS in games however.

If you can (legally) get it without having to pay for it, try it on a seperate partition (DO NOT UPDATE, do a seperate installation!) and make up your own opinion. You don't have much to lose except for a few hours of your time at most.

If not, do what the others posted and wait. It's probably not yet worth spending so much money on at the moment and chances are that you will buy a new computer within a year in which case you'll likely get vista anyways.

well same here, perf are almost the same under xp64 and vista 64 (thanks ED for the patch and thanks Starforce for the update of august 2006)

At the launch of vista 64 support of 64 bit device is mutch better than at the launch of xp 64.

My old pen parter tablette dated of 1988 runs well under vista 64 (don't have to wait one year)
