D3Magic Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 (edited) I updated DCS to 2.5OB from 1.5.8 Release, now DCS will not start VR anymore. It seems DCS just doesn't recognize/detect Rift. Before that, Rift worked perfectly with both 1.5.8 Release and 2.2OA. I have tried following, but still no image/video output to Rift: - With/Without command line parameter "--force_enable_VR". - Use DCS Updater Utility tool to start DCS with VR On/Off. - Clean/Repair DCS. - Check/Uncheck DCS option "Enable Virtual Reality" setting. #Edit 1: I had removed options.lua file before updating to 2.5. #Edit 2: 2.5OB works fine with 2D display monitor. Other VR games work just fine. Because I had removed other DCS version, now downloading 1.5.8 again to check whether still works with 1.5.8. Have to wait...... #Edit 3: Finished downloading 1.5.8 Release, VR works with 1.5.8 perfectly. But still no luck with 2.5OB. Any help please? I rather wait for 2.5Release then do a clean install. 13700k @5.6GHz | 32GB DDR4 4000MHz CL14 | ASUS Z690 TUF | GIGABYTE RTX4090 Gaming OC | Samsung 970PRO 512G + 980PRO 2T GIGABYTE M32U | HP Reverb G2 Warthog HOTAS | TPR | JetSeat | TrackIR5 Windows 11

toutenglisse Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 No image in the Rift but do you see on your screen (DCS running) that the tracking work when you move the Rift ? If so maybe you set oculus home to run admin, and for me on a fresh window session oculus home has to be opened 1 time and close before DCS could run fine with Rift without oculus home running...
D3Magic Posted February 3, 2018 Author Posted February 3, 2018 Try renaming the entire OB folder in saved games. worked for me (I then copied over just the Input folder over from the old install) Thanks! I tried but didn't work. There is only one "DCS" folder under "Saved Games". There used to be "DCS.openalpah" for 2.2OA. A little strange. 13700k @5.6GHz | 32GB DDR4 4000MHz CL14 | ASUS Z690 TUF | GIGABYTE RTX4090 Gaming OC | Samsung 970PRO 512G + 980PRO 2T GIGABYTE M32U | HP Reverb G2 Warthog HOTAS | TPR | JetSeat | TrackIR5 Windows 11

Tracking not work for 2.5OB. When I start 2.5OB with "-force_enable_VR", the VR hangar screens (two instead of one) show up but tracking doesn't work. 13700k @5.6GHz | 32GB DDR4 4000MHz CL14 | ASUS Z690 TUF | GIGABYTE RTX4090 Gaming OC | Samsung 970PRO 512G + 980PRO 2T GIGABYTE M32U | HP Reverb G2 Warthog HOTAS | TPR | JetSeat | TrackIR5 Windows 11
D3Magic Posted February 4, 2018 Author Posted February 4, 2018 OK, there is the fix: update Oculus Software to the latest version. Apparently 1.5.8 and 2.5 use different VR API (OpenVR?). I wish ED had this info in the release note. 13700k @5.6GHz | 32GB DDR4 4000MHz CL14 | ASUS Z690 TUF | GIGABYTE RTX4090 Gaming OC | Samsung 970PRO 512G + 980PRO 2T GIGABYTE M32U | HP Reverb G2 Warthog HOTAS | TPR | JetSeat | TrackIR5 Windows 11

I wish ED had this info in the release note. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200724 VR updates: VIVE - controller enumeration fixed , hand transform fixed. OpenVR - add initial controllers update. New option --force_steam_VR - to force VR driver to use steam. Correct picture for oculus headset picture in Steam VE environment. Touch controllers - mouse wheel speed variation depends on thumbstick depression. Aspect Ratio setting will not breaks ingame overlays. Disable applying of scale GUI option in VR mode. Maxfps value will not affect in VR mode. My 2.5 uses Oculus VR API by default ( not Steam version though). D3Magic Posted February 4, 2018 Author Posted February 4, 2018 Yes, I think both 1.5.8 and 2.5 use OpenVR. The version used by 2.5 is newer than 1.5.8. That's why my 1.5.8 could run in VR but 2.5 couldn't. 13700k @5.6GHz | 32GB DDR4 4000MHz CL14 | ASUS Z690 TUF | GIGABYTE RTX4090 Gaming OC | Samsung 970PRO 512G + 980PRO 2T GIGABYTE M32U | HP Reverb G2 Warthog HOTAS | TPR | JetSeat | TrackIR5 Windows 11
JIMJAM Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 I have had some wierdness where DCS loads the initial screen for maybe 5 seconds and then goes black. I can see it on the tv but the goggles are black. Rebooted the computer and worked fine. It has done that 3x.
