LaLa Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 My observation in Tacview was the A10 had a 1-2 sec range advantage over the ZU-23, however the statistics show the opposite. Effective range of: ZU-23 2 - 2.5 km or 1.08-1.35 nautical miles GAU-8 1.2-1.6km or 0.65-0.86 nautical miles I presume the difference lies in reaction time, but this effective range for the GAU-8 seems quite low. The maximum range of GAU-8 is reported to be >12,000 ft or >2.0 nautical miles
Sniper175 Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 depends on if your going for a point target or area target. Point tgt accuracy is def around 0.65 if not lower I7-8700 @5GHZ, 32GB 3000MHZ RAM, 1080TI, Rift S, ODYSSEY +. SSD DRIVES, WIN10
feefifofum Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Lots of factors here. For AAA I fire a burst from 1.9nm to 1.7nm slant range at about a 60 degree drive angle; this usually does the trick. Where are you pulling these stats from? THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC

Deezle Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 That's the effective range of the GAU-8 on a tank, against relatively soft targets, 2 mile shots are pretty feasible. Mars Exulte Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Yeah, plane is quite a lot easier to kill than an AFV, thus longer effective range for AAA. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
colyoap Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 So those of you hitting soft targets>2nm, are you starting to fire before the pipper starts dialing down?
